It doesn't get mistranslated - the subject is usually cut in Japanese and computer programs just add "it" because something needs to be there.

I don't know about that, this guy has made English more efficient by doing away with formalities such as grammar. He should be applauded for having the mental capacity to do so far beyond anything we can comprehend or imagine.
I vote him for prime minister - clearly he favours a "no-nonsense" approach to things!

Sea water is used to make the steam that powers the turbines. It's also used to keep the whole thing cool. You need a LOT of water for a BWR and that's why anywhere you look in the world, they are on the shore.

Yongyang - I think part of the problem is that they are unable to physically reach the fuel rods right now... I completely agree (like everyone would I imagine) that moving them is the sane thing to do, but I don't think the situation allows for that right now.

Burying it is still a last resort when there is absolutely no options remaining. It's not ideal, will create additional problems, and that is why it hasn't been undertaken thus far - it's also why no experts are suggesting it at this point in time.

Read 残念な人;英語勉強方 if you are interested in this - the authors of that book got native speakers from a load of different professions, ages and backgrounds to try the test (including people who had finished graduate school etc.) and not one of them got a perfect 100% score.
