Hi Nicky. Bizarre, I too could not understand why we had thunder. It was a first for me too. It felt kinda strange at first because I could not understand what was making all the noise. The last thing I was thinking of was thunder...
Spooky :)
Also, I agree... I saw many people outside their homes this morning trying to turn the streets into ice skating rinks with their garden hoses.... Why? Are they really that dumb? Do they not understand that cold water will turn into sheets of very dangerous ice. (shaded back streets at 6am in the morning)...

You're looking at the reason behind the once mighty Japan is failing fast.
It is run by people who cannot think independently and they attach way too much attention to stuffy outdated protocol. In addition to selfishness, lack of empathy and corruption that is.
They should try to emulate Australia, I think the Aussie's have the most disciplined and talented government (an d no, I am not Australian either).
Their national debt is only 5% of GDP verses Japan's which is around 125% GDP...

If you're really worried leave. If not, just get on with your life. Life is too short to constantly worry.
Let's be honest, they have no real idea when the next big one will hit the Kanto region... T.I.J (this is Japan) which means someone had to put a number in the box, so Watanabe-san and Suzuki-san just randomly decided on a 70% chance in the next 4 years and 30 years... Report finished, now lets go to the Izakaya...

How can the opposition complain about raising the sales tax to help bridge the revenue shortfall. It was their party that caused the mountain of debt that exists today. This debt is a massive burden due to the astronomical interest payments that have to be paid.... Therefore the government has to raise more revenue mainly due to the oppositions childish and immature overspending (i.e. borrowing) when they were in power.

The government is 100% at fault....
They should have banned all exports from the affected area immediately (as a precaution) after the Fukushima disaster.. I remember a beef ban weeks after the the disaster, and still to this day I cannot understand how only beef (cows) exports were banned...(Why not everything)?
Then again, I just need to look at the very old and incompetent men who lack any common sense or the ability to think and act swiftly who are supposed to run the country (at prefecture and national levels of government) sprinkle with some corrupt and selfish businesses, then suddenly everything makes sense.

You want real change. Allow us gaijins to put together a political party, and we will aim to reform EVERYTHING to bring J politics, healthcare, education and Law into the 21st century... Oh what a thought :)

D-Pump, it is minds like your that are killing Japan. Japan needs to change. And honest businesses and government is one huge step in right direction. What benefits are there to secrets, liars, corruption and cover-ups? How does this help the people of Jpan exactly?

Excellent idea. Cap it and peg it 100 to the dollar. You got my vote. This is the only option for governments managed by clueless morons. (a.k.a failed banana republics).

This is why it is foolish for anyone to invest into a Japanese company. Sure, a lot of Japanese companies produce great things, but they fail to understand the concept of shareholder value. It's all far too grey and corrupt for my liking..

Here's another version of what might of happened...
After taking a shower (hence being naked) I think he was planning to trim his bikini line before his super hot date later that evening. He slipped on the wet wooden floor in his room and fell awkwardly. In doing he accidentally sliced of his jewels.
Next he lay on the bed in double agony. Agony one for the pain of the injury and the sight of his jewels not being where they should be. Agony two knowing that his super hot date is over (as are all future hot dates)
Feeling totally depressed, he stabbed himself (several times) as a form of self inflicted punishment.
Bottom line, he had a rough day. RIP...

Anyone who eats shark fin soup should feel ashamed of themselves. Have they never seen the barbaric and cruel methods used to obtain these fins?
This will only stop if governments intervene and outlaw any food that contains shark fin soup. However, Shangri-La welcome to the 21st century (better late than never i suppose)...

The world is crippled by debt, yet the IMF still asks for more money to be LOANED to the countries already drowning in debt.
The 'Debt Money System' (search wikipedia) is evil and there is no way out until everyone understand what it is and how it works. Then collectively we need to evict all corrupt and paralyzed governments who are slaves/puppets to the worlds mega banks (A.K.A Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan etc, etc). These banks are the one who posses real power and control.
Just ask yourself, why does your government need to borrow money? Exactly it doesn't make sense does it.... Next, who do you think benefits when government borrow? Exactly, only the mega banks... Nuff said.

If you are a regular employee and you steal something small like paper or files, you would get fired immediately. Rightly so, for it is unacceptable behaviour.
So why are these crooks not fired and arrested pending a full enquiry? Why are they allowed to stay in thier roles? The amount that they have covered up is staggering.
Why the double standards???
