Sounds like: David v Goliath... I wish him all the best. The old dinosaurs who control most of Japan and the corrupt systems need to be challenged.

starting April 1, to cover costs of switching to other forms of power.

Shouldn't that read: to cover the costs of TEPCO management's incompetence..

Woodford has criticized the in-house auditing system as a mere facade, saying the non-employee posts are often given to retiring senior businessmen with close links to executive board members.

And that is just ONE of the MANY things wrong and open to foul play (ahem corruption)...

Yes, the whole system of big business is rotten to the core. it is also similar to how the government operates. Shady, dodgy and selfish whilst always failing miserably to portray themselves as working for the Japanese people...

A massive shake up is required in both Japanese business practices and the management of government.. A good place to start would be enforcing transparency and full disclosure at all levels...

Corruption, more corruption, lies and total incompetence. These are the only headlines we read about politics in Japan..... Sigh!

After living in Japan for 12 years, I think the time has come to seriously consider leaving. I cannot stand the complete and utter uselessness of the government and their total lack of common sense. Is their any government body or agency in Japan that isn't useless, totally inefficient and which isn't corrupt from the top down?

I am convinced that they (government and ALL law makers) only care about their own privileged group and pushing their own private agendas'. They continually fail to demonstrate any compassion towards the people of Japan. I am also convinced that they have forgotten (or have never known) the role and responsibilities of a government.

I am getting really sick and tired and totally frustrated. It seems like everyday we read another story that is justifying a 'hostile takeover' of these idiots who cannot lead or manage.

Am I the only one who feels this way???

Yeah, let's fight each other and our own agenda's... as for the people of Japan, we'll be two faced and just ignore them as we always do.

Bank of Japan governor Masaaki Shirakawa said Monday the European sovereign debt problem was the biggest risk to the Japanese economy.

What!!! I think you'll find that the Japanese government and how it is managed by the selfish idiotic morons are a far greater risk to the Japanese economy.

The tax has to increase to cover all of the miss management of the previous politicians.

The nations finances should be removed from the control of the government. An independent company with publicly elected '2 year term' directors should manage the nations finances. This company should also manage all government expenses, just like a REAL accounts department. First job, stop the massive hemorrhaging of cash on politicians perks and apartments. Then reduce the number of law makers to only those that are required. The other 80% should be fired immediately.

Then the useless politicians and political parties (that remain) can focus on their internal power games without screwing the rest of society. Lets face it, nothing has improved in the last 5, 10, 15 or 20 years.

Clearly those in the government have forgotten their purpose.

I wouldn't trust any of the politicians to go the Tsutaya to rend a DVD for me... You just know they would mess it up and i would be waiting for it for a very long time.

Yet somehow they are in a position without (in most cases) earning their position based on skill and results.

I pity the person who had to pick the 'bits' from under the bed. That must have been an awful experience. It would certainly cause me serious nightmares...

Also, I have to wonder if he was dead before the 'bits' were cut off. Whatever, this is a shocking crime.

This person (probably a woman) needs to be found fast. I will sleep with one eye open just in case there are copycats out there...

Sounds like my ex-J wife has been dating again. She was crazy and very dangerous too.

A spokeswoman for Tokyo Metropolitan Police confirmed to AFP that officers were investigating an unnatural death.

And there was me thinking this was natural. You learn something new everyday...

Hi guys and gals, I too have volunteered in Ishinomaki a few times. I plan to go back again soon. I also designed some fund raising T-shirts, which I asked the children within Minato Shogakko (which was acting as a shelter) to draw the pictures for me. You can see some of my work (I am the one with the hat and glasses) and/or buy a t-shirt here: www.gambaroutohoku.com

Ishinomaki was one of the worst affected areas. To see it with my own eyes for the first time back in late March and early April was heart breaking... They still have a very long way to go, so please keep up with your support.

And thanks to JT for keeping these articles and stories in circulation.

Corruption, stubbornness, selfishness and refusing to embrace (or even recognize) change are the real killers in Japanese politics. Until these mannerisms are eradicated from government, nothing will change, and life and opportunities for us who live here will continue to decrease, whilst stress, feeling miserable and suicides will increase.

Changing one or two ministers will have no real long term impact.

I would happily support a hostile takeover of these incompetent government parties and politicians.
