she was being treated for clinical depression

What exactly is the treatment for depression in Japan? (other than being told to 'ganbatte')... Being honest, I am surprised they even know how to diagnose the problem..

Can the JDF modify the plane?

You bet they can. You can expect an AKB48 version very soon.

Currently, if the father has any contact with his children after divorce (assuming they are with the mother) she cannot claim any single parent benefits.

I have this problem with my ex-wife. She is afraid that if i go anywhere near the house (Which I still pay for) she will not be able to get heavily discounted medical treatment for herself and OUR daughter as a single parent.

Currently you are not classed as a single parent if the other parent has ANY contact. How messed up is that...

Totally agree with Nicky (as usual)...

His employers and the license issuing authority should also be at fault. Do they not have a responsibility to ensure the applicants are mentally and physically healthy? I cannot help thinking that much more disclosure and transparency is required when employing someone. So far we have all read many stories about criminals, unfit and mentally unstable people being employed when they have already being convicted or warned over previous offenses... How is it possible that and individual can hide his past and just get another job elsewhere??? The system needs to be changed and fast.

Maybe it's a good time to apply international pressure for a democracy. It will be a great day if and when the people of North Korea had some say in who runs and manages their affairs.

A book about atheism and evolution when I was 16 years old. It opened my eyes and mind to wonders of the real world. Ironically it prevented/educated me from ever celebrating Christmas as a religious event. Now I just enjoy the time off work with family and friends :)

"Emergency Security Meeting" - So we can expect a decision in about 6~12 months time.

As long as it does not go to those corrupt businesses that will look to exploit anything and everything, in principal I think it is a good idea.

Why do I get the feeling that Russia and China are already planning who to put in his place, so they can secretly continue to control the country.

I truly hope the people of NK have a democratic liberation coming their way (they deserve it)

Life in Japan appears to resemble living inside a pressure cooker...

Can it really be that only non-Japanese think that life in Japan is too dependent on conformity, suppressing your feelings and emotions, non logical strict rules and protocol. Which seems to me (sadly) that Japan is a nation with an extremely high number of very emotionally suppressed and totally stressed out individuals.

I have no idea what the solution is, but I am sure the above is a major contributor to the amount of current dangerous and future generations of dangerous mentally unstable individuals...

Bad foreign banks. A Japanese Bank would never do anything like that... (Yeah right!) Is the media trying hard to divert attention away from all of the corrupt Japanese businesses?

Globalwatcher. I agree with you, I am sure the US public is very glad to out of Iraq. However, I am certain the profit driven businesses that dictate and control most of the US armed forces and senate are extremely keen to get into Syria, all in the name of profits cleverly disguised and promoted as 'National Security'...

Hey Darren, I feel for you bro. I went through the same ordeal. My ex J-wife subjected me to 5 years worth of cruel physical and emotional DV after our daughter was born.

I somehow became worthless in her mind. She destroyed all of my personal things (I mean everything) and then destroyed my resolve. Would she go to counseling? No, because in her mind she was acting normal and I should be grateful that she cares for our daughter.... After 5 years of suffering her daily insults, abuse, total neglect and her viscous fury I had to finally give in and submit the divorce papers. Our daughter is now 8 years old, I just hope she understands why daddy had to leave when she is older :(

(PS I am still being blackmailed to this day. If I stop paying or try to reduce the 260,000 JPY a month I have to pay to support her, she has said I will never be aloud to see our daughter again)...

The AKB story just about sums up the mentality of the typical useless salaryman/Cop/Politician... Without them, AKB would just be a group of talentless children (which they are)...

I bet the US war machine is itching to get in there and start pouring billions more profits to the US weapons manufactures. This must be a dream come true for the rotten/selfish people who own/control the US war machine....

The only ones to benefit from these US led wars are the weapons manufactures, and the dirty/selfish politicians/senators who indirectly own shares in these profits by death businesses.

Watch this space, the US will invent some other cause soon to go after some other country. Have to keep the wheels in motion to maximize profits for the US military machine...
