I just left Brisbane after being stuck there for two weeks due to the worst flooding in 35 yrs. Now I
m in Cairns about to be hit by the biggest & worst cyclone in Aust.history. I cant help feeling like I am a disaster magnet. Anyone know a good exorcist?Posted in: Monster cyclone pummels northeast Australian coast

Not sure why you think this game should have been the final. Australia were one of the favourites to reach the final, so at the end of the day, the two best teams in Asia will battle for the title. Australia may just have the edge, as they had the easier of the two semis & may be more rested - but who knows. Should be a cracker.

I doubt we`ll see it dropping much further personally. In recent history, the lowest the yen has dropped to was 79.75 (in 1995) then it subsequently rose to 147 over the next 3 years. So this is a major psychological level here (80)

Unfortunately, all the attacking, entertaining teams are in the same side of the draw, Argentina, Germany & Spain. So, I
d like to see the winner be a team that hasnt won yet. So for me, a Spain V Holland final would be awesome.Posted in: Spain edges Portugal 1-0 to reach quarterfinals

I agree with the above comments. The Japanese played well, as a team - & thoroughly deserve a hearty welcome back home. Well done lads! Now, If you were to choose a Japanese coach, I
d love to see Gambas coach, Nishino take over. He has a very astute football mind.Posted in: Okada hints he'll quit after Japan exits World Cup

how about giving this guy a break. he has just played 120mins of football, then probably volunteered to take one of the penalties. It certainly wasnt only his fault, & he surely wasnt the weak link. better players than him have missed penalties (Baggio) @Neaojamal - not sure why you would call him a goalvirgin, If you knew your football, some of the best penalty-takers have been fullbacks & some of the more famous non-goalvirgins have missed (Baggio). And nobody wants to lose. well done Japan, you did your country & Asia proud.

I agree - this was a well written article. Fifa have a lot to answer for & the sooner that crazy old dinosaur Blatter gets the boot the better.

am currently watching the sth korea v uruguay match. can someone please explain why sth korea is wearing white & not their traditional red strip? i must admit i have been perplexed by some of the choices in playing strips in this world cup - none more so than the argentina v greece match, where greece wore white & argentina dark blue. surely both teams could have worn their first strips. just wondering.

to cactusjack ”And down the Blue Samurai will go in the 2nd round. Don't believe the hype.”
whats with all the negativity mate. I
m sure youve been saying this every game so far, & it must really hurt every time they prove you wrong - ouch. They are hitting form at the right time & are actually playing some decent football. They have a good chance against Paraguay if they keep this form up - especially Honda.Posted in: Goal!

all you anti-japan people should grow up. if they win, you bash them, if they lose, you bash them - they cant win either way. they put up a great effort tonight (as did the aussies) so well done to them. now a draw against denmark should be enough for them to get through - but i am sure you will bash them then too.

lets not get too excited about "team usa" shall we. America does have more athletes, more money & more technology than any other nation. So on a per-ratio performance, they are doing just average.

how could this 38 member boy band create an inspiring song for the local marble competition, let alone a world cup soccer anthem?! what they need is a rock band like Bz.
