Friendship is like an investment. For it to grow, you invest time, effort and money all at the same time. Being unemployed too means I have a lot of time and effort available but with no money I would just be "a pain in the neck."

To womanfor women, at my age I'm not that well experienced to handle a man. Western women are used to being vocal and treated equally. I'm asian and got that conservative view of marriage. Most of us are here to better our lives. It's just that some are lucky and some are not. And why do we have to bicker, the women here in the article wished their husbands dead. Me included. But then how many Jmen have actually killed their wives be it foreigner or japanese. Give me some break, friends.

Thanks Misoshiro. But I need only the gold medal for its equivalent in yen. I've got no money and no job. I got the so called nenkin bunkatsu but I could only avail of it 7 years from now. Gambarimasu. Shikataganai. I just think however that each of us have our own battles too and each of us deserve a sort of medal. Pun aside.

To tcoind2, you presumed too much. I can't blame you. How was that for a husband who would leave the house pretending he's off to work yet all the while spending precious money and time in pachinko parlors, would arrive home tired and lame and me preparing the ofuro and the midnight snack thinking he had a hell of a day at work. I was dumb then. Never realizing a man of his age can do such a thing. I don't even really know if it was only pachinko all along. In this case yes I could have said he better drop dead.

Been married for almost 20 years to a J-man almost 20 years my senior, I love my life that's why I got divorced. I emphatize with the woman but at least being japanese gives her leverage. Some men just don't understand how hard it is to keep face, keep house and maintain one's sanity in a highly pressured country. Little things that would make women feel ahh I married a wonderful guy. Thank God. And those little things need not be highly priced goods in small wraps.

And to Marcels, You're right. It seems they haven't gone over yet with their WW2 defeat. Doling out left and right outside while having a blind eye on the miserables inside their own yard. So much for that Japan. You are a winner now. No need to keep on brandishing your power and wealth!

I would love to do the same but right now it's the other way around. Been out of job since last year and my son is feeding me. So shameful but what can I do? When my previous hakken kaisha started looking for workers late last year they called again those who opted to go home. Those of us who waited to be called and are right here in Japan goes to the waiting list. There's a hideous politics inside hakken kaishas. It's not how well you do the job but how well you play along. My zest to work is dying because there's no job security with the proliferation of hakken kaishas. Had I been Japanese I could have been that parasite too. I feel Iam now anyway.

Because they get handsome fees for looking foolish and saying rubbish. While poor me have to toil hard and yet no matter how much I stretch it out, it still not enough. Ijimerareru!

Miss Cleo, That's why I put in quotation marks the dumb word. I just thought that in a big factory like that where the Japanese, Brazilians, Pinoys and Peruvians are around a thousand, the sub leader did not even had a hunch that something was amiss. Imagine him collecting several times a year. Yes inspite of my educational background I'm at times dumb. Dumb for not ratting people around.

I know of a homeless man who died of TB. You could just imagine the man coughing hard and what comes out is not a sputum but lobes of blood! Very pitiable! Very disgusting! Disgusting still as the wife he left for something like 10 years is now receiving a survivor's pension. My point is some homeless people could have refunded their social security contribution even if it meant a refund of 2 or 3 years contribution just like the ones afforded to gaijins. But no they're not entitled to refunds because they are Japanese. And they can't even apply for welfare because they don't have a domicile. Even if the parks can be listed as domicile they wouldn't simply because they don't want to do jusho henko for some personal reasons. When some die on the street, their wives whom they left decades ago apply for the survivor's pension and no one ask why. Speaking of dole outs and taking advantage!

They should also be on the lookout on some parolees who have killed more than one and were within the neighboring prefectures. This gruesome crime doesn't seem to be a work of a first timer. I might be too opinionated. Pardon. Just too sad losing a gambatte iru young lady.

Bowing to someone else doesn't make him half a man. It shows both respect and humility. Traits even ordinary people need.

Quite eerie, but from day 1 I just remember Sakakibara Seito. He's around 26 by now and released into society which should not be. How could a boy at 14 behead another boy? Now what could he been doing? I utmostly wish he is rehabilitated. I feel for little ladies who dreamed of finishing college without selling their bodies. What a sad lost!

There is such thing as bankruptcy in Japan. My ex did it before. Her reasoning is doubtful. Most Japanese don't value life at all. It could have been because of lenient penalty. Imagine being housed and fed for free and then out and about after some years. Could some kind of harsher penitence lessen this kind of deplorable crime? She could have filed for divorce, gain custody of her son and live off with a little less than 200,000 yen a month for welfare as her son is still a minor. I am right now having problems too but killing never entered my mind. There was a time when I thought of just leaving without a trace but what is the meaning of life after all? Is it just to be happy, leaving problems behind and start life as a new persona? I'm in the middle of the road yet still learning to love and to heal. I maybe self righteous but that is because I'm a Christian.

It seems that murder is a trend now. Killing a relative or someone else and justifying it with stress, abusive parents, and anti social environment could somehow affect the punishment. Or maybe blaming it to insanity. Knowing too well that most often than not the meted out punishment is between 5 to 10 years. Will life imprisonment or capital punishment lessen this crime? I wonder. In this case, it was the parent who applied, enjoyed and used up the money. If she can't pay the burden of such big loan then go commit harakiri herself. Just don't do it to her child. Poor little boy! Rest in peace.
