Say what you like, but this is past history and Japan has apologized numerous times throughout the past, The ONLY reason this is kept alive is by the CHinese leaders in China, and Korea. Of course they still can not get over that they were beaten up by Japan, and only helps the leaders in the eyes of the people that has been taught this continual hatred of Japan scince birth and that is very true!!!. Will these countries ever let peace come to East Asia or will they continue to keep the hatred alive? Look at Chinese society over the last 5 years and the destruction the Chinese leadership has caused to Japanese investments and to Japanese people's lives in China. The hatred is so alive and kept alive by the Chinese leadership that in an instance China society goes on these hatred ramps against anything Japan.. This is totally SICK, and totally sick of a society anywhere on earth when it is lead by leaders of a country! Problem being, now that China has gained power they are targeting even others in the region with this same hatred and aggression. Terrible terrible.... It is terrible anyone supports such mentality as well! This is Japan now, not yesterday. Can not people come into the 21st century? geez I find all this so childish and yes China has been branded childish many many times in the past 10 years or so.. Yes I do hate the CCP and what they have done to the minds of its people, and yes I do have friends from China, quite a few!

lol I am sure your comment was towards me Justicetz. Sorry I did not mean to get on you so rough. hehehe But US has been trying to form some kind of relationship with China, but seems that has failed for many years so far, to try is fine, but to give into someone that has no commitment and sees the US as someone they need to push out of Asia and away from its allies, is not a way to form any partnership with such a country that lies in no way in line with allies such as Japan, Philippines, Malaysia, Europe. etc.. US and China willnever have such a relationship, same as the US and Russia. Us tries, but as we see China and Russia in no manner will ever come to terms with the US to form such a freindship.

I think I will go deface this so called monument. Can not believe some politicians have taken part in such BS! If anyone should put the past into the past it should be the US, especially concerning Japan. These other Asian countries has used these type of tactics again and again to empower themselves as leaders within their own country when this has no reflection on the people of Japan today, but they keep the topic alive and kicking for nationalistic purposes , the same inwhich China does again and again as they themselves are guilty of so much even today against others along with their own people. This is a very disturbing topic to me, and the way it is being kept alive!

This is sick,. Look what corrupt politians can come out with.. Wasn't the main focus and the main reason for US job losses ... CHina.... and its currecy manipulation, for years now. And, for how many years under both the republican addministrations and democrat administrations has it been talked about and has been threatened towards China and not one thing was ever done about it, still today. So now these screwballs in Washington wants action against Japan. Is this a joke or what??? My only assumption to this, our politicians here in the US are only in for take, meaning the taking of large corporate funds and political contrabutions of the many US companies in China making billions!

Justicetz. For the US, Japan is more important than what you could imagine, seeing you imagine nothing when it comes to national security and the importance of Japan as a strategic position facing the world's largest dictatorship of the world that now is flexing its military muscle, which everyone was wishing they would have not turned out to be, but now they are and has everyone pist off and worried. But hey, we brought all this on ourselves withthe massive investments into China over the years. large corporate funding in the right politicians pockets... need I say more?

Japan has every right to develope its military, just as China takes no slow course to do so and has no shame in using it as soon as possible to intimidate its neighbors in claims of everything in the region!

We know it happened! China is the aggressor in this situation and the world sees it as that! Same with China's actions against the Philippines and trying to claim up to their shores!

I support Japan whole heartedly, you have deleloped a free advanced society and is seen as that throughout the world. Maybe not so much in China as the leadership demonizes you infront of those they try and control, namely Chinese people of China, but as for the other major powers around the world and the largest percentage of every other country, we all see you as I described above. More power to you! :) hopefully will enjoy some of your culture later this year. Cheers and good wishes to you all!

It is not a secrete that China loves to keep the Japan issue alive as it takes some attention off of the CCP's problems when it comes to social issues that can get out of hand and has many times recently with protests over land grabs and payoff of local official in different provinces across China and also using the Japan hatred to promote nationalism as to keep support of the forced into power leadership that keeps them propped up in their singular leadrahip compssed of the princlings that keeps the power within the small group of those that have held on to power ever since the communist forced themselves into power from the bigining!

I donot know where people are getting these ideas that somehow Japan changing its stance to being a regular military would affect its position with the US, when the US has been promoting Japan to do so, to take a more active position militarily in the region, and also Philippines wishing to see Japan take more responsibility and looking for a security partnership with Japan and other Asian nations to be able to stand up to China's recent aggression in the south China sea and East China see. All I read is deception that seems to be originated from CHina, as that is what China does best! Lies deception , and cheats its people from real time news within China and outside of China, only articles and events that supports their leader's position of power. This has been a fact since the communist forced themselves into power in 1949! Nothing has changed in that manner!

:) China's statement is as arrogant as their actions throughout Asia today! I guess CHina should be the only one with the building of a military and already using it to try and intimidate everyone in the region. GO JAPAN!!!!!!

It would be sad to see Japan become a puppet nation of China, along with the rest of the smaller Asian nations. China is not a model country by any means!

It is time for Japan to once again become a normal power as a country. Actuallyit should have been done earlier and China would not be trying to push Japan around like they have been doing over the last 8 years or so. The US should be in full support of this change as well since China has been reaching out with its power towards all of its neighbors, including Vietnam and Philippines. Japan has a very sophisticated military and it should be used as an asset to Asia instead of letting China dominate everyone by force. China is just geting to be too much of a pain and aggressor!

I see not one good reason for Abe to not due anthing with the apology.... Since. China and South Korea seems that any apology is not good enouhg. Why has the rest of the world moved on and are close friends with Japan, even as these others also fought in the war?? Then take for instance Germany, what is the difference? Do we still hear this constant bull S about Germanyand its past? Maybe it is just the level of social developement lacking in these countries that is the problem.. haha Of course the dictators of China use it for their very opwn existance and forced control over their people. Instant hate against Japan earns them points!
