This was technically an invasion of what is likely the most secure area in Japan (perhaps after the US Embassy.)
Curious how cops in Washington would have reacted to a fellow running around the white house lawn for an hour.
I'm for one grateful that the cops here didn't tazer/shoot/beat/etc him. My guess is that he'll be found to be severly mentally imbalanced (either that or the Spanish equivalent of Borat.)

Yes, amazingly Nomura has indeed bought the Japan operations as well. Whodda thunk?
Pride? HAHAHAHAHAHA! I think they will be able to instill in them something more important, something that Lehman couldn't: that "having a job" feeling.

Dude, Japan don't care so much about overfishing. Like, nada.
But anyway, glad to see you've got those shiny rose coloured glasses on - must make the devastated, ugly, over-built and under-used rural countryside so much more interesting.

Something is fishy. Almost every construction contract in Japan is fixed-price, date certain. Change orders are, as you can imagine, highly detailed and technical (including that little matter of the price.)
If the contractor was truly not paid for work done, the title to the building would never have been transferred from the contractor to the client (or at least the portion representing the unpaid amounts.)
Oh, and methinks it was the cost of steel, not oil, that led to the price overages (again, this would almost always be eaten by the contractor in a typical deal.)
Lastly... OgieDoggie, something tells me Mitsubishi Estate and Kajima will be good for the cash.

Haneda has plenty of space to expand and is doing so already. The international terminal opens in a year and a half. Expect most if not all int'l traffic to be going through Haneda by 2015. For political purposes this isn't being openly discussed, but if you take a look at the Narita plans vs Haneda plans you can clearly see what direction the future will take.
Narita is actually a fine airport in terms of efficiency, planning, appearance, etc - not perfect, but pretty damn good. But - and Republic of Texas, this really isn't a debate - it's 50 kms too far away. It's in the wrong place. I don't care what Wikipedia says, I fly out of Narita all the time, and compared with other major international airports it is horribly inconvenient. Shaving "20 mins" off an hour and a half journey still makes it one of the worst commuting airports on the planet.
Posted in: There are about 40 nations that still want slots at Narita. In addition, for the eastern part of Tokyo, Narita is actually closer.

Westurn - these are patches, not the nicorette gum. The patches have only been here for a few months (been out in the west for years, though).
Works great for long flights.
