and the world, in such a sorry state that the next president will have to spend most, if not all, of his term just trying to undo the mess.

So as America goes so goes the entire world? That's a comfort.

I was feeling guilty about the 5% world population/but using 25% of its resources business...

Well well, now how secure is Iraq again?

How secure is Turkey? How secure is India?

    Who is the common enemy?

    SezWho2 you wrote

In a war of good against evil, those who divide the world into good and evil would probably be evil.

Kudos to you, as our fellow American smithinJapan likes to say. You cut right to the relevant nexus there! But the thrust of your assertion is unfortunately dulled because you stop short of naming the manichaean mindset you so rightly characterize as evil, as in 'axis of evil'.

No one will come after you for denouncing the traditional Islamic division of this world into dar al Islam versus its enemies in dar al Harb.

    Have courage!

Sen.McShame should wake and face up to reality. we don't need another McBush term.

So, you too are voting for Senator Barack Hussein Obama ?

On this one I think Senator McCain is correct. Obama seems to be all talk. He is too much the opportunist. He called for legislation preventing Blackwater from operating in Iraq, he attacked their outfit, but he let their security forces provide protection for his recent much - publicized tour of Iraq...

The current president has never admitted that we invaded Iraq on false premises or phony pre-emptives or fictitious weapons of mass destruction. Bush

Why admit something only your adversaries - wrong all those years about the Soviets and wrong about Bin Laden's reach - believe to be true?

Moreover, I don't really see what does Bush has to do with McCain/Obama.

The fact is Barack Obama still could have visited those soldiers, as a senator, to thank them for their service.

But he chose to blow them off.

    Commander-in-Chief?

Divide and conquer. No wonder Olmert is smiling.

That's an interseting perspective. Olmert enjoys a meager 6 percent favorability rating among Israeli citizens...

Europe is lucky that Senator Obama made it over. They are obviously hungry for change they can believe in. Really hungry. Frightfully hungry.

Barack just gave a hell-of-a-speach in Berlin, Germany.

As much as they are dying to do so, they can't vote in our elections. It's kind of sad to see them swoon the way they are.

    Is democracy dead in Europe?

    Who is their Obama?

Now the term conservative is mostly associated with stupid. Liberal, with being right almost all the time.

Can you clarify? In what country is this the case? America has a 'conservative' president/leader. Conservative politicians have these last five years replaced 'liberal' leaders in France, Germany, Canada, Mexico and Italy, among other countries. They appear poised to win in Great Britain...

If you have to tie Trinity church into a discussion about Sen. Obama's extremely successful visit to the M.E. and his plan for foreign policy discussion, you obviously have nothing of relevance to offer to the discussion and are just hear to hatefully froth at the mouth.

But israel is part of the M.E., one of the most important. And the church that Senator Obama was member of for twenty years was openly and stridently anti-Israel.

It's not just one side of the American blog o rama that raises the issue. Senator Obama has been confronted by Israelis and by American Jews for his ties to Trinity Church. It isn't going to stop because they fear being called 'hateful' by his supporters. They take religion pretty seriously in Israel. I can't imagine they'd give a free pass to a native politician who converted, spent twenty years in one house of worship, denounced the congregation's leader - - a man he'd called his moral compass, and then simply went to worship elsewhere. Why should Barack Obama get one?

Iran backs Hamas and Hezbollah. Here, by way of a business blog, is copy of a May 2007 article printed in Trinity Church's bulletin written by a senior Hamas official.

    Very troubling stuff.

Savvy American politicians turn their attention to superordinate goals like the Taliban in Afghanistan or the Persian fundamentalists in Iran and more or less avoid what is happening in and around Jerusalem.

Persian fundamentalists, sezwho2? Don't you mean Persian supremacists?

Actually, I think the problem is the apocalyptic brand of militant Shia Islam that the ruling theocracy believes in. I have no problem saying it. There are countless quotes from revolutionary Iran's founder on the subject. Islam is also the reason for the Arab position on Israel which you spoke of. No harm done in saying so.

I don't expect the US to solve Israel's problems. But we should support them, as should Europe, basically responsible for Israel's creation.

Yeah, as though McCain were playing a trick on us all!

he's already gaffed more times than bush, if you can believe it (though not as bad as the worst of bush's gaffes),

So you're voting for Obama. Seen or read of his gaffes? He's got nothing on Senator McCain...

Again the Administration would have dropped another ball when it comes to the US backyard! Well done GW!

Why is Chavez the Bush administration's problem? What a large backyard we have. He strikes me as Venezuela's problem.

This "I was discriminated against because I am a conservative" excuse has become the white man's race card.

Just want to check - - are you certain you want to go with that one?

You understand that it includes the admission that among those who are opposed to McCain and conservatives are 'liberals' who have an all too real 'race card' and don't have compunction about playing it...

To those who have an ear, whether Obama is talking about Israel or Iraq or Iran he has a distinct melodic line that lends itself to high harmonies.

Distinct, melodic and harmonious - like twenty years of Sunday mornings down at Trinity Church...

Senator Obama is not just looking like Bush (FISA,Iraq etc.) he is actually beginning to sound like him as he continues his world tour - -

"Let me be absolutely clear,Israel is a strong friend of Israel's."

The US press is vastly republican and almost solidly conservative.

I like seeing stuff like this. Pointing out such absurdities to my Americans friends who call themselves 'liberals' helps them understand how wacky many,if not most,non-Americans are.
