The real reason folks need to chill on Iran is because the media's Chosen One has already descanted on the issue;it is therefore solved, and the Little People need not worry:

"Strong countries and strong Presidents talk to their adversaries. That's what Kennedy did with Khrushchev. That's what Reagan did with Gorbachev. That's what Nixon did with Mao. I mean think about it. Iran, Cuba, Venezuela – these countries are tiny compared to the Soviet Union. "

    [Yawn]

Guess we are back to convicted '93 WTC bomber Ramzi Yousef. And his Iraqi passport. And Abu Nidal. And 2002 photos of Zarqawi in northern Iraq...

Obama ad again links McCain to Bush

If history is anything to go by this election should be a cakewalk for the Dems. That Obama and the Rove-like Mr Axelrod have to resort to ads like this must mean they are getting desperate. Media coverage is overwhelmingly in Obama's favor and yet he is taking the low road.

What happened to all that hope, all that change...

When Kruschev said that the Soviet Union would bury us, did he say that the it would destroy us or that it would dance on our grave? There's a difference. We preferred the more shocking translation even though that wasn't what he meant.

A first time visitor to this thread might think you are equating Iran with imperialist, Soviet Russia.

A little less of the Fox News hyperbole there, alright bro.

Is that what Iran said, that it will wipe a race or a nationality off the map. Or did it say that Israel will vanish from the pages of history? It makes a difference.

When they paint "Death to Israel" and "Death to America" on the missiles they parade through Teheran, and when their leaders publicly and quite casually refer to Israel as a 'stinking corpse' I think most adults can figure that one out.No need for parsing, rearranging and playing word games.

I can only imagine how Sen. Obama linking Sen. McCain to bush must confuse the more die-hard neo-cons.

    What's a neo-con?

Obama is a liberal? He agreed to immunity for the telecoms, didn't he? He's pro-FISA, pro 2nd Amendment, pro- "occupation", pro - financing for the war.He wants to drill offshore...

There are things about Obama I really like. Checking Instapundit, one of the many horrible right wing blogs I peruse, I find that host Glenn Reynolds - worked on the first Clinton campaign - had this up today:

Obama is making schoolwork, studying, and showing your braininess cool. That's good for the kids, people.

So long as many Americans want to treat Koreans as beneath them, Koreans are right to protest.

Been on a US college campus lately? Have any idea how many Koreans want to study in the US? Have any idea how many we accept?

To cause a nuclear chain reaction, he noted, "you need U235, which only makes up less than 1 percent [0.7] of natural uranium."

Well then, cleo. Perhaps we can have all that yellowcake dumped in your prefecture?

Tak - the sooner you get that GAO gig the better, eh? You can personally investigate why the Air Force made 37 flights, top secret, from Baghdad to Diego Garcia.

This is a classic case of being denied rights because not treated as human.

I'm sorry, but that made no sense, sezwho.

Dred Scott? - quite a leap there.

    Relevance?

The Scott decision had direct bearing on the Civil War. You remember - where Lincoln suspended habeas corpus.

Sorry, Whitehawk, but your lame attempt at spinning the question would only be missed by those blindly wishing Bush COULD continue for another term, and as such would welcome a continuance via McCain.

You didn't follow the Republican primaries. You look ridiculous.

We are the country which champions human rights.

Yes, and it is because we champion human rights that we find ourselves targeted by half-literate, brainwashed man-boys like Hamdan - and his boss Osama bin Laden.

If they were uniformed I'd be the first to protest. But they aren't. And to grant them in this case the same legal rights we do US citizens is madness. If nothing else it completely compromises evidence-gathering and surveillance networks used to apprehend Islamofascists.

That yellowcake uranium you are going on about... is that the same yellowcake uranium that was a) was not weapons grade

Not weapons grade? - the 37 payloads that the Air Force flew from Baghdad to its Diego Garcia Base? Have a look -

    http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2004/8/9/110630.shtml

    b) well known to the UN and IAEA and was being stored legally by Saddam’s government. It was legally in Iraq according to international law?

Yeah. The UN, coopted and duped in the weapons-for-food program, really had Saddam under control. The IAEA watches and inspects. It was the 100,000 or 150,000 US troops in the region that provided the deterrent.

Hey, maybe Joe Wilson can clear things up...

All hypothesis that "Iran has a nuke program" will be laughed at unless the poster concerned can provide evidence to back up their claims that Iran has a nuclear weapons program, let's keep this real.

I'm guessing whatever country you are from also believes Iran is actively pursuing nukes and has a stealth program dedicated to that end.

So your challenge is seen through, and 'laughed at'...

A Vote for McCain is a Vote For the Terrorists.

    That's funny.

    Your desperation, I mean.

But I don't think Camp Obama would be laughing. The word terrorist has them a little nervous at the moment. Seems Obama's 'Muslim Outreach' coordinator has had to resign because it was discovered that he once worked for a group with direct ties to Hamas.

Sure is getting ugly under that bus.

Kind of like your John Edwards story that apparently no one but the National Enquirer is reporting on. What's next? The World Weekly News?

"That's not really the Enquirer's niche, though. It gets confused with publications like the defunct Weekly World News, but in fact the Enquirer is surprisingly good at reporting on these kinds of stories, and it has a decent track record with them. It was the Enquirer that published the photo of Donna Rice sitting on Gary Hart's lap. It was the Enquirer that broke the story of Rush Limbaugh's addiction to painkillers. And new information about the Edwards story makes the Enquirer's reporting on it look more solid."

And if it should meet with the kind of surprise and resistance that it met with in Lebanaon, in any protracted conflict Israel can survive only with the military assistance of the US.

If you say so. Funny how you choose to once again overlook the astounding Israeli strike on Syria last year. They neutralized the air defense system Russia sold the Syrians (Iran bought the same) and by all accounts took out a nuke plant that like the ones in Iran was manufacturing weapons grade material.
