Nessie, just saw your post. Sorry mate but are you implying that Al-Qaida ever had a soft spot for Obama? As far as I recall, he was the guy they hoped would lose. McCain was their horse. And Obama did repeatedly take heat for saying he'd go after them regardless of what their guardian - Pakistan - said.

Wolfpack : "crawl back into your cave" you said. Should have been, "Stand in front of your cave so that we can 'Drone' you.
McCain supporters should read into this - like Prop 8 vote. There is something mainstreet doesn't quite understand about African-Americans - they're the mother of all right wingers. Al-Qaida knows this from its failed foray into Africa. Bantu (Negro) Africans don't take too lightly to its kind. Remember the price we paid in Kenya and Tanzania for telling Al-Qaida off? But that didn't turn us off supporting the US in the war on terror. Six of my Zimbabwean compatriots were killed in The World Trade Center . Obama's paternal country, Kenya, lost one hundred plus lives to these murderers. Their allies are murdering scores of coastal and nomadic Kenyans. Shipping along the Kenyan coast is totally disrupted now... how the hell would this bunch of in-bred lunatics expect us (people of the African persuation - apol. to Fred Sanford) to side with them? Yes indeed, Obama has an agenda, to fumigate some caves in Waziristan. If not for his mother's people, for his father's.

White Afrikaans? Is there any other color? For crying out loud... Someone actually telling the UN (loaded with the victims of those same murdering Afrikaaners) to save the Afrikaaner. God I feel sick. And who does Skipthesong think is behind the DRC/Zimbabwe mayhem?

Wolfpack: The war in Iraq was lost - regardless of how some want to tell it. And at this rate, in material and personnel cost, it makes a pyric (sp) victory look attractive. Dunkirk was a nasty defeat for the Brits but at least they can spot the one bright spot in the thrashing - their extraction of their retreating forces was feat that left even the Germans in envy. For Iraq, how does one talk of victory in a situation that should never have been? A leader that leaves his helpless troops in conflict long after the enemy can no longer be identified needs a moral rebirth.

helter skelter: Wow... you don't get it? Racism by the people you've cited? Let me tell you a story. A New York cop arrested a guy for washing car windows at a traffic light. In court the judge asked why he was disobeying local law. The guy brushed aside his public defender and asked the judge, "Who's going to hire me? I have a college degree but I'm the wrong color. How can I survive? I don't want to go on welfare so I'm trying to make an honest buck. Perhaps it would be better for you and society if I was out breaking into your homes..." The story has taken a few turns as it's retold but the moral of the story is that America can count itself blessed that after two plus centuries of 'institutionalized' racism the only fight back by the oppressed is through words. A ranting Farrakan is worth a million reassured smiles in mainstream America than were he to go the other imam way.

adaydream Sorry for flogging a dead horse here but this is leading right back to Zimbabwe. The same culprits are committing these murders in the Congo. ANd I wouldn't be too surprised if the Zimbabwe, Angola, Libya... went for Rwanda this time around. I'll bring it up again - those tanks on the Ukrainian ship belong to Rwanda and for this purpose. Kenya covered up for them by claiming them. You asked, "Any oil being pumped?" Something much more precious, COLTAN - Columbine Tantalite.

Saw BBC Hard Talk last night - Claire Short. Wow!! Where was the BBC I wondered. Miss Short did not show an ounce of shame on her face as she catagorically denied (though evidence was being presented to her by David Sackur) that Rwanda is the cause of the COngo's troubles. And this brings us back to Zimbabwe - whose destruction was clearly brought on by Miss Short and a few others - and the Congo connection. South Africa and Rwanda never seem to come up everytime the UN discusses Congo's war, I wonder why? And how did the UN get out of town so quickly? Was it tipped off in advance?

Why don't they stop lying and tell the truth - Rwanda and SOuth Africa are invading the Congo for the second time. For heaven's sake tanks are being used and the last time I looked eastern DRC was so far from the sea, these tanks, unless air dropped had to have come from Rwanda. Which reminds me of the other tanks still on the pirated ship - Kenya claims them but they're for this bunch of terrorists.

Mystie. Get off your high horse. You speak assuming that Africans supplying the IVORY are black, don't you? The fact is that our parks are managed by white conservations - always have been. The very same people you love to parade on Discovery Channel, National Geographic Specials, PBS etc as throw backs to the good all days. Remember Mr Leaky in Kenya? He wonderfully called us animal butcherers for culling elephant. Ten years later he's saying that southern Africa's methods are the solution to saving the species. No not all the ivory comes from natural death - in fact that type of ivory is almost impossible to find unless the elephant fell into a ditch and died. Most of our ivory comes from rogue animals shot raiding farms or kraals. The rest is from culled herds. One third of Zimbabwe is national park and game reserve, the other two thirds is owned by Britain. The ten million blacks have to squeeze themselves between these divided sections of the land... does Mystie actually expect Africans to have sympathy for an elephant? Ha haaaaa...

South Africa took ten years to get back to this position - now that it feels Mugabe will not be able to rescue Kabila again (Junior this time around). Strangely the know-it-all press corps never saw it coming. Just like '97 the UN takes a swift retreat. If someone could check arms shipments one will find that certain tanks repeatedly claimed by Kenya (and sworn to be Sudanese by the BBC) were most likely on their way to Rwanda... Genocide is only Africa's way of paying back tribes that allow themselves to be used as askari by Europe and other non-Africans.
