When I was a child: A certain Jessie Jackson came down to neighbouring South Africa - apartheid, to give the 'black brothers' moral upliftment as he put it. And I must add, our plight in Rhodesia was a central theme... He stuck us 'black African brothers' with a $15,000 dollar fee!!!! Now please don't zap my post again, but the sly weasel sent a "pay or else" note as soon as his emancipated butt was back in the US.

Only a civil war can help us. Without it the world will never know what we've been subjected to by South Africa and Britain since 1997. People need to start asking serious questions - to the farmers and SA based companies regarding what Standard Bank asked them to do against the economy of Zimbabwe.

sezwho: guess who greeted jessie this morning? A black St. Peter. And he told Jessie to take his seat - at the back of the bus.

Oh this is going too far.... Somebody please search: "ZCTU strike 1997"

and see what I'm talking about. See who occupied the farms; see who called for ignoring the rule of law; see who called on instituting socialism in Zimbabwe; see who lied about Zimbabwe's crisis - by the latter I mean see how Morgan Tsvangirai and his people have spun their agenda into a massive hysteria against Mugabe.

On the ground the reality is Zimbabwe has two completely different stories. I had a look at the people in the US embassy grounds: these are not refugees but people taken there by somebody using them. Why on earth would a black Zimbabwean seek refuge in the US embassy? Don't get me wrong but the concept is so remote from our culture. Hell why didn't they go to the British with whom they're familiar. To black ZImbabweans the US embassy is a place that gives visas to white Zimbabweans. I went there for refuge in 1985 and 1986 and they told me to leave. Today it's 22 years since the threat on my life was first made - in writing! - and the US still doesn't offer me help. Zimbabwe is being divided more by the day by people manipulating the gullability of the west, and we Zimbabweans at the end of the day will pay with our blood while the 'outraged' western observers move on to another 'Crisis de Jour'.

Mad: I got zapped. But non-the-less, this issue is bigger than politics. We're facing a showdown in Zimbabwe. People must stop thinking about elections and see the issue - assault on the sovreignty of the country. You probably think I'M crazy. I know what you don't know. Watch the press in Japan over the next few days.

taka: This is what happens when the fate of countries is decided by what we read in the press. A month ago they blasted Mugabe for a sham of an election. "Ignore them!" the cried. We catagorically refuse to recognize these bogus elections they said. They were neither free nor fair. Then the results started to come in and the so-called opposition was claiming landslide wins in all districts. "Democracy prevails in Zimbabwe!" the song changed, "Mugabe is gone!".

Guess what? This was the first time they ever called and election fair in Zimbabwe - even the first election in 1980 which the British oversaw.

SO Mugabe decided to go with their 'not free, not fair' claims. Surprise how quickly George Soros can forget. Tsvangirai is suych a traitor that regardless of who sits his fat butt on the throne he'll never last a week.

starviking, Mugabe is doing what? The food for Zimbabwe was produced by white farmers only - under the friggen law! They stopped food and switched to tobacco. Mugabe decided if they will only answer to London then they should at least pay a tax on the tobacco so the country can fund imports of food. Their bosses - the south africans decided to destroy the economy - ASK KOIZUMI, MANDELA, PETER HAIN, MBEKI... Mugabe must resist under all circumstances! If he gives them one inch of Zimbabwe then we will have his head! Zimbabwe will never be south africa's colony! Mugabew is mortal and he will die sooner or later and guess what sir? The fight will continue.

Bush is excused: they (the state department) are misleading him about what the actual problem is in Zimbabwe - remember Powell being booed by 5000 people in Jo'burg. He didn't get it then and still doesn't I believe or he'd have said something. Mandela on the other hand is pathetic. He is directly resonsible for the damage to Zimbabwe. After all it was his lobbying to Japan and the likes in '97 that got the plot rolling. And let's not forget that Mandela sanctioned the invasion of DRC by South Africa's proxey - Rwanda. Mbeki should stop being silent and let the cat out of the bag. Look what they did to Chiluba for refusing to take their money? They 'tried' him in London. Even took his suits!!!

Zimbabwe for us Zimbabweans is not a struggle for political ideology. Our country was assaulted by south african companies with the help of Peter Hain. Tsvangirai betrayed his own country by taking those companies money to form his so-called opposition party. Iraq and Zimbabwe have nothing in common. Mugabe was not killing nor starving us. We were importing food from 1992 because the only people 'licensed' by the British to produce food in Zimbabwe - white farmers, switched to tobacco at the instruction of BAT et al, and the unused parts of the farms were turned into lucrative safari parks - before yousay "But that's good for the economy" the farmers were being paid in Europe and calling their clients "family visitors from abroad". Mugabe put up with it while Tsvangarai and his thugs - aka the war veterans, were calling for Mugabe's head. Google and you'll be shocked at what you get coming out of Washington think tanks and major news organizations. Your posts about liberating us from Mugabe are disgusting attempts at pandering. Please don't patronize us. Get your facts right before you post.

bebert: Peter Godwin's book is a total con-job! I know exactly which mine shafts he was refering to - my best friend, Hapaguti, was the one who discovered the remains - in 1984. They were from 1979!!!!!!1 Rhodesian kills from the Botswana ZIPRA camps. The book Mukiwa is a piece of crap. The Fifth Brigade he talks about was in Matabeleland less than three months! They were demobilized by Mugabe not for their sake but because their North Korean instructors were smuggling counterfeit US dollars and Mandrax. Besides they suddenly billed Mugabe for their "free" services - $38,000 US per man per month. I believe we paid to aoid the undesireable... The entire Rhodesian war killed 22,000 from 1967 to 1980. How did Godwin come up with 22,000 dead in Matabeleland? And he clearly fails to mention that we were fighting 22,000 Russian and south african sponsored terrorists from Joshua Nkomo's ex-army. The lies out of Zimbabwe are the same racist crap we've had to deal with since Ian Smith's failed coup of 1981.

Madverts my rant says it all - Mugabe is a non-player in the crisis. He was back in '97 and '98 when he went to Kabila's assistance. The people of Zimbabwe told him to leave the Congo to its demise. When he crossed Standard Chartered bank and the coup was set up by Peter Hain the people suddenly saw what Mugabe had seen back in '92 - the white farmers holding the country to ransome when they stopped growing food crops... The suffering inflicted on the masses make them the players. Hence my persistence in saying forget Bob and ask, "Why is the MDC so despised and why are African governments quiet - they're sitting on the fence. Remember that I sat in on a meeting in which Britain offered Mazda 32 million dollars to join the coup in '97.

Triumvere What do you see after the demise of Mugabe? Cheering in the streets of Harare? That's what you should think about because Mugabe isn't the one suffering for 10 years now. Mugabe isn't the one that was told by his company, mine or farm "I have to shut down for 18 months - the south africans have asked me to or else - so you'll have to just go back to your tribal trust land and wait until I reopen for business. Mugabe is not the one that was constantly reminded, "Just overthrow him and you'll be rewarded". Mugabe is not the one that was told to come to south africa for work, "Because we can't find any competent blacks down here and we have to promote them under the black empowerment act...". Mugabe is not the one that was told that, "Trust us, Mugabe's cabinet is involved in the coup..".

The joke is on the west that keeps screaming Mugabe when the problem is south africa's companies trying to continue their rape and pillaging of black africa.

niku: go back to bed will you. Remember Rumsfeld's "They'll welcome us with open arms"? Trust me, the common folk in Zimbabwe have zero sense of diplomatic 'respect'. Foreign ambassadors running around the country like they're shielded by devine power are seriously running the risk of lynching. God knows how many horrible scenes I saw in Zimbabwe when I was in the service. Excuse me for being ignorant but I sense that perhaps one or two ambassadors are actually being set-up by their countries - to be lynched. Africa is afterall a funny place to do business.

Madverts: FYI : www.africanews.com/site/page/weblog_overview check out: "Mugadza's weblog" Go to all articles and scroll down 3/4 of the page to: the article on Israeli intelligence and Mugabe

Also take a look at the pictures on the blog but be warned they're horrific. As I've been trying to tell all you folks - Zimbabwe's mess is horribly bigger than you are imaging. Secondly it is a thousand miles away from what you think it is. We are beyond help - if help is that so-called political solutions being offered by the west. Our problem is Congo Coltan, Cobalt, Gold, Diamonds etc. The names Bredankamp and Rautenburk should give you a hint. Yes, Zimbabwe was prosperous but Mugabe didn't squander the wealth as you unfortunately believe. Saddly the world is going to get the Scot McCellan inside look on Harare when it's too late. The line between good and evil in Zimbabwe is so clear to the people - and embarrassingly Zimbabweans abroad and within are pretending to the rest of the world about the actual story of our troubles. That is the single greatest tragedy for us because we are allowing the west to continue antagonizing Mugabe while we clearly know that the multinationals crashed our economy to get rid of Bob (Congo). Let me also remind readers of JT that the war veterans were with Tsvangirai in 1998!

Raj: Zimbabwe is not going through a power struggle. It's a division of the family problem: one side is for the country and its people the other side is for South Africa. Figure out which is which. I've heared some say on this site Mugabe needs to go. Go where? He is not the crisis in Zimbabwe. Mugabe goes and half the country dies - butchered by the patriots. The story of my country is saddly not being told truthfully by the media. The problem is that it is a multi-national coup attempt that went horribly wrong. The worst part of it is that stupid, treacherous Zimbabweans - white and black, agreed to do South Africa's dirty work of getting rid of it's enemy (Mugabe). If Mugabe took land from white farmers why are they not suing him in Britain? It's been 8 years now. Think about that then make your comment.

Madverts: "Amazing the other day to here (sic) on JT that Mugabe has been wronged." Guess what? I totally repeat the same words: Mugabe has been wronged. Now hear this: Regardless of what your spin is on Zimbabwe the truth is that the wronging of Mugabe created this bloodbath we are about to enter. Due all respect, but it does Zimbabwe no good to all pile up on Tsvangirai's side simply because the BBC told you he was "our sort of bloke - wink wink nudge nudge... Take a look at the very law Mugabe is following and you'll see that it is the very law Condi Rice demanded Mugabe follow. "President Mugabe needs to follow the rule of law..." Problem is that that law is a bitch. Margret Thatcher foisted it down Mugabe's throat at Lancaster House in November 1979! Mugabe is simply using the law he has been forced to accept - Rhodesia's law. The very same statute law that allowed Ian Smith to butcher thousands, and to imprison Mugabe without trial for about the same amount of time as Mandela. Remember that the very same judges that signed detention order extensions for Mugabe were the same guys telling Mugabe to accept continuation of those barbaric laws unless he wanted to scare the whites out of the country. Zimbabwe is a sad case that needs the world to see it for what it is rather than through rose tinted glasses supplied by the corrupt media - yep, corrupt. Do yourself a favor and google these same players but circa 1995-97. I challenge you to make the same comments about Zimbabwe a year from now.
