Sounds like sour grapes from smaller names who were hoping that Sakai's fall would be a boost for their careers.

War is sometimes justified and removing the Taliban and chasing AlQueda in Afghanistan certainly passes that test. Shame we wasted so much time and life in Iraq when we should have been securing Afghanistan. That said Obama shouldn't have been awarded the prize, he hasn't earned it yet. I was pleased he realized that and was humble in his tone. Back to work.

Mr. Rudd with all due respect is just sword rattling to keep the issue in the world press. I myself don't care one way or another. I don't particularily care for whale meat but I also have no problem with sustainable harvest. Oh blah dee oh blah da but please everyone continue with your impassioned arguments.

I hope they can afford to remain students forever or don't mind picking through the trash of rich carbon credit traders. This whole thing will be the last gasp of Western industry and will lead not only to huge job cuts but huge increases in energy cost. Also these are the same people who shun nuclear power which would be one way to eliminate the coal burning powerplants the US relies on. Nobody's going to care about the polar bears when they can't afford to feed their kids and heat their houses but of course students, politicians, and professors don't live in the real world.

A Leica is a very fine camera and quite expensive in its own right. What value does Hermes add to the cache of Leica? For me not much but I do like the orange.

Hard to tell who's the worse airline but I'll say its American by a nose. If JAL sinks to these levels of "service" they really are done.

It's good that Al Gores cult of climate doom is taking a few hits. I don't rule out that humans contribute to global warming but I also recognize that the climate goes in cycles of heating and cooling. To take what is half finished science as the gospel and then cause extreme trauma to the economy doesn't make any sense. These leaked emails aren't the only reason for skepticism, people should be concerned about any scheme where a handful of people stand to make a ton of money.

Coming? It's already here and I'm not talking just about the acts of global terrorism. I am most concerned my Mulim groups striving for things such as the blasphemy ban, again demanding rights that others don't have and don't ask for. You can lump in demands for special meals in office cafeterias, all girls schools and any number of other ways in which muslims try to push their way onto societies they immigrate to.

That's all fine if we are really sure that these guys aren't scapegoats. The PRC will do anything to keep the economy going and if executing a couple of guys is expedient well then that's their misfortune.

zurcronium: "because they are in the pockets of insurance companies that rip people off all the time" Guess what the democrats are in their pockets too. The insurance companies were at the table and support this because by mandating coverage they will have more customers. This will not do one thing to contain cost it's money down a hole.

Stuff your carbon targets we should do absolutely nothing until we know how it will affect the economy. People aren't goning to care much about the polar ice caps if they can't feed themselves.

Yabits: seeking compromise maybe a sign of a moderate but her political idealogy is on the far left of the party. Palin is just a nut case who will hand the democrats four more years if she runs for president. I think your missing the point. Your comment on Kennedy is especially telling "and didn't learn anything since the early 60's, he would likely be a conservative today" Do you mean if he didn't swing to Pelosi's side of the party? Is that learning something? Look, Obama pulled center moderates like myself by pretending to be a moderate, his spending spree is assuring many people like myself will not vote for him in the next election. I want a moderate, intelligent, fiscal conservative who does not pander to the hippy dippy left or the bible thumping right wing droolers.
