I've been here before, it's quite beautiful. Nice photo but an angle that showed more of the orange temple in the background would have been more impressive.

"until December 25th" it always makes me laugh how quickly x-mas decorations are packed away here.

We all knew it would top the box office. I haven't seen it but I've heard it's a very fitting tribute. Rest in Peace MJ, you made the world a better and more interesting place. For the haters, well that's all you've got is hatred and negativity.

Since "foreign" is a catchall here I'd really like to hear race reported. Were they Asian foreigners, or African, or Caucasion? Anyway, In the states the copper probably would have done more than fire above their heads, good restraint I think.

Sad, I wonder what sort of desperation drove him to do this?

DickMorris: That's a knee slapper, your hard earned dollars already pay for the "lazy" (read poor or unfortunate) people through S-Chip and Medicaid. Apparently that bothers you more than the millions of people who can't get coverage because of pre-existing conditions or get dropped when they get sick. I am not a fan of government but private insurance has been merely a scheme to make a few CEOs wealthy at the expense of the whole of American society.

At least there is a public option as I've said before without one nothing would be accomplished. My fear is whether or not this will lead to increased rather than decreased premiums as insurers try to make up money for having to cover pre-existing conditions. There are still not enough price controls but at least someone is looking at the problem.

Well she committed a crime but the greater crime is that of underemployment and hopelessness in Japanese society. This poor lady was desperate enough to rob her own workplace in trying to help out her parents.

BurakuminDes: I don't think the pervs can perv at will in Japan, they arrested the mother and will arrest anyone who bought photos from her, isn't that how the law works?

Why the surprise guys, who do you think takes most child porn photos anyway, it's the parents. Yes she is a sick mother but she's certainly not alone.

I'm torn on this one, I voted no because when you get too many years beyond the crime important evidence is lost and witnesses die. The chance for a fair trial diminishes with each passingt year.

Gadhafi, once an enemy now a friend we invite to the UN for comic relief. He must have learned some lessons however as he's now engaging the international community.

SushiSake3: I'm not a conservative, I'm an independant who gave Obama the nod. What he has done since taking power is not what I signed on for in this area and many others. The mistakes made by BushCo are now his problems, he signed on for the job and is starting to look like he's out of his depth. That you can't change by blaming Bush.

Smithinjapan: Obama as the CinC selected generals he trusts and now is ignoring their requuests and ignoring their assessment of the situation on the ground. That is the problem. Yes Cheney and Bush created the problem in Afghanistan by diverting troops and focus to Iraq. That doesn't matter now because they are not in power. This is now Obama's war and one he promised to win. I want to see that committment.

On this one Japan should say no, Japan has always had reasonably good relations with Iran and doesn't need to cave to our wrongheaded policies. Maybe Obama would rather Japan bought more oil from our good friends the Saudis. Now tell me again where were most of the 9-11 hijackers from again? Hint it wasn't Iran.
