This would make me think twice about sitting next to a stranger on a bus anywhere. I used to ride the Greyhound all over when I was in college because it was a cheap way to travel. There were always wierd people on the bus but I certainly would never…

Guess you can't hold the owner liable if the dog was chained and the woman was trespassing. How did the woman get bitten in the first place? If the dog was barking and going ape sh*t like dogs do when someone enters their turf why would she get within biting…

Tokyo unlike New Orleans is not below sea level so even if you get a typhoon as big as Katrina was you would never see flooding on the same scale. The most likely flooding you will see is in subways and underground shopping palzas as we had in Fukuoka years…

It's madatory to buckle the seatbelts in the rear seat, is this a national ordinance or just Tokyo? I don't think I've ever even seen seatbelts in a Nagasaki cab and I surely have never had a driver tell me to buckle up.

buggerlugs, good one you must be enjoying the country life. Whether through immigration or overseas Japanese returning or births this is good news. These numbers mean that Japan's population is relatively stable.

The question did state the "best president from Japan's perspective" so I think the answer has to be McCain. He is more likely to maintain the current large number of troops in Japan and unlikely to shake up the status quo. I also tend to believe that McCain will favor…

DXXJP I flew one of these about 4 years ago, it was a lot like the Lockheed Electras and DC-6s that I flew as a kid in the 70s. It's always amazing to my younger friends that these 20 or 30 year old prop planes were still common in the…
