Another sick day on the mean streets of Japan. Now, instead of my typical "I told ya so" viewpoints I'm just gonna ask you all to stop and think about the reasons for Japan's skyrocketing crime waves. Why all this violence, angst, hate ? Why all the suicides ? The…

"Police discourage autopsies that might reveal a higher homicide rate in their jurisdiction, and pressure doctors to attribute unnatural deaths to health reasons, usually heart failure, the group alleges. Odds are, it says, that people are getting away with murder in Japan, a country that officially…

"So tell me, how many innocent people have the Japanese cops shot by mistake in the past, say, ten years?"

Cool Biz only highlightes how archaic Japan Inc has become. The real question is why are Japanese still flooding into Tokyo day after day to sit around in offices answering phones, sending e-mails and faxes, and visiting customers. Couldn't they do that from the confines of their own homes ?…

Nice try Cleo... you have singlehandidly flooded this thread with every attempt to put a positive spin on a wayward duck ! Fact is, this poster remains unconvinced. I too have had extensive experience working with Japan's police force. Varios domestic training sessions, international conferences, Riot control, Embassy postings, the…

Lemme see if I got this right... Currently Japan:
-Has a less than 40% food self sufficiency rating, one of the lowest in the industrialized world.
-Has some of the worlds highest food prices.
-Has recently seen food prices leap as much as 100%.
-Has instigated programs to destroy domestic…

Tragic event ? With more than 100 suicides a day in Japan I would hardly label this "tragic"... seems like more of the same ol same ol in the land of the disgruntled in Japan.
"Japan has long battled a high suicide rate relative to other developed nations"
Speaks volumes…
