I think the big problem here in Japan seems to be this Idea that it's OK to strike a child, infant, toddler anywhere on the head, face, body...etc... and at any age...

This is made worse by so-called comedians on the TV hitting each other over the head in search of entertainment. The notorious ou-bei-ka skit for instance, which is copied up and down the country by ill-informed kids at pre-school.

The other two boys were arrested on suspicion of stealing the vehicle.

The fact that they were sat in the damn thing when it hit the lamp post suggests to me that they it may be a little bit more than suspicious!!!

Work is more important than boyfriends

That is until she hits her late thirties early forties, and we see her begging in the press for marriage and children. When will the Japanese psyche of work is more important than ones personal life ever end. Everyone knows that it is loved ones who are there to support you through the hard times not work. Then again what do we expect from the demented self gratuitous bint in the photo. Work to live not live to work. On a final note, high pitch voices are not sexy, and you look like a trollop.

She's won it for the 3rd year in a row. One wonders what the criteria could be for being a grapefruit ambassador.

Wanted: desperate, talentless fool who will do anything for work.

At three years of age, children don't have the mental capacity to reason between what is right or wrong.

Timorborder, I don't think you give credit to three year olds and their ability. Talking from experience, I find that children of this age CAN be disciplined in certain fields; e.g to eat at the table, don't speak with your mouths full, put your hand over your mouth when coughing etc. Typically this takes patience, and a consorted effort by both parents over a period of time. That and the fact that kids of this age copy their parents behaviour in every way, it seems in this case that both parents were shocking role models and retorted to abuse to curb the childs 'disciplinary issues'.

They say Japan is a safe place to live, however it seems that there is an endless supply of morons lining the street corners hell bent on causing injury to others due to their own pitiful sad little lives.

This is very sad indeed to hear of a boy's life being taken by what is fundamentally a given when driving in a car. I guess it comes down to the fact that his dad lacked the discipline to make his now deceased son where his seatbelt. A common trait seen on the roads everyday here in Japan. I guess if they had the info-commercials on the TV like back in Europe, Australia or North America, parents may wake up to the horrors identified with not buckling up and/or drink driving. Though I suppose this wouldn't fit in with the whole Kawaii notion that grips Japan!!!
