as mindless as most japanese game shows are, i think they'll be a reasonable hit in the States. Its just entertainment, and if you go in understanding that, you'll probably enjoy some of them. The old Takeshi-Jo is still, after all these years, one of my favorites.

travellers tend to be smart, they know fares are going up on the back of higher fuel prices, but by understating a fare to get them to walk in the door, then nickel-and-diming them to death (or outright lying, as done in japan) only serves to piss them off. If my fare is $650 plus food/drink/fuel/checked bag/etc, just charge me the $1000 at once. Its not that difficult a business plan to figure out.
