ah this is a great cover to say they care about their workers, when basically many of those jobs will be lost to packaging automation and drone deliver.

whats this moron going to do put ankle braclets on every foreigner that enters the US. If somebody doesn't want to be found there's very little the authorities can do. maybe they can stop every foreigner on the street and ask to se their papers, or raid peoples home to search for illegals. Seriously if your voting for Trump just because you dont like Clinton your a fool, better just dont vote at all!

Question: did he have a lawyer with him? At any time? lawyers can only be present during interrogations at the invitation of the police. question should be was the whole interrogation process recorded. If you ever get into a situation that your being interrogated by J police, SAY NOTHING, unless the whole interrogation is recorded or you have a lawyer present.

@Gary Raynor and yet Australia has a minimum wage of about 1500yen\hr and even they realise theyve made themselves way too uncompetitive both in manufacturing, IT etc. and those industries have all but died. If it wasnt for Australias natural resources and food exports theyd be in some serious financial trouble. Japan has very little of what Australia exports and they certainly will never produce even enough food to sustain their own population. Add to that a shrinking population.

I think some of these JT financial experts should get a job on the J government think tank, they may just produce the second economic miracle that Japan so desperately needs.

One of the reasons why Asian parents sacrifice their retirement funds for their kids' higher education. It's drilled into the bones of every Asians, "Do not bring shame to the family". So dont do anything wrong or youll bring the whole family down with you! its no wonder everybody just wants to toe the line and not stand out for fear of the repercussions or stigmatisation of them and their families. Not an environment thatll breed individualism or creative thinkers is it. Wow and you can understand with the cultural and added financial pressures why so many Japanese lose their minds or commit suicide. Yet many people seem to think these cultural norms are a good thing! compared to what!?

these apologise by parents on behalf of their adult children is pure show and nothing to do with taking responsibility.

Ive experienced it first hand. In 2004 I was involved in a serious car accident with my wife which resulted in her hospitalised for 3 weeks. The other drive a 25yr old was racing another car at the time lost control and crashed into our vehicle and was clearly at fault. The parents came to the hospital and apologised etc etc. A few weeks after my wife had checked out of the hospital she proceeded to contact the family and the guy about insurance over the accident, which their reply was that he had none and had no money to pay. Months went by with repeated apologise they continually stated they had no money. To take the claim to court would involve many millions of yen legal fees with no guarantee of actually getting any compensation from him or the family.

Anyways as fate would have it our insurance company contacted us about 6months after wed almost given up hope and said that they'd payout the hospital costs (about 1 million yen) as well as compensation about 1.5miilion yen, better than nothing. But only because the guy and his family had continually avoided negotiating with us. Ironically if they had negotiated and agreed on a settlement it would have been substantially less that what our insurance company would likely be chasing him for reimbursement of our payout. Insurance companies have far more resources to get payment from the uninsured.

My whole point is this, you can be apologised too until the cows come home, but it basically just words and means nothing unless those responsible are willing to offer monetary compensation or their time offered to charity if they have no money. Words are cheap, action speak a thousand words!

** The opponents won't let an actual scientific study happen, because the result may show that they were incorrect in their protests, and show that the whalers weren't actually in the wrong.**...... no because scientific studies have proven that lethal research isnt required to study a species and certainly not in the whale numbers that Japan continue to take from the oceans. I think mostly anti-whalers just continually hate being lied to and taken fools of with the farcical label of research and tradition the Japanese put on hunting whales when its clearly commerical harvesting. If Japan just came out and said we hunt whales as we want to make it another commercial enterprise we can profit from without the interference of whale lovers then at least those opposed could label Japan as open and honest about it.

**Why? Taking away jobs for taxi drivers who already suffer from Uber. ** self driving cars will in the near future be far safer than human drivers, have less accidents and cause fewer deaths than human drivers, including taxi drivers. In 10~20yrs time when self driving cars are more previalant and the road deaths decrease. you have to ask yourself would you ban self driving cars because theyre taking away the jobs of human drivers even if it means the road deaths will increase also!

its not just the underage exploitation it also the fan base its aimed at. Alll you have to do is watch a Spears concert and then a AKB48 concert and see the ratio of middle-aged men to teenage girl fans there are. Youll always find the ratio of middle-aged men much higher in Japan. Lets face Japanese men dont go to AKB48 concerts to listen to just the music, its this perverted side thats actually promoted in the name of profits, at least in the US they make an effort to discourage the exploitation of young women in the image of adolescent girls

It is hard to see how they can finance the campaign without support from the US branch. it very easy. Just go to the Australian SS site and make a donation. Have done it numerous time.

Shouldn't Paul Watson just forfeit his U.S. passport if he is so adamant about this and make Australia his main headquarters where he can drum up more support? SS is far bigger than just Paul Watson, much of SS growth and fame has come from Japans insistance on whaling. Its Japan who has played a big part in creating the monster that is SS. A monster im happy to support. bring on the pain SS LOL

just proves that the US and Japans legal reach doesnt extend beyond their borders, now if they were to use military force to force their ideals that would open a whole new can of worms I doubt Japan would have the stomach for. So its business as usual for SS . and hundred of millions of more J taxpayer legal fees down the drain for squat. LOL

But that just it. Citizens tax money is used for government land. But that doesnt mean citizens can use it whenever they like and certainly not fir free. This is Japanese law if you dont like these laws then you can lobby to have them changed. Until then these groups are breaking the law and should provide compensation for the use of those lands. They can protest on the footpaths if it gets their message accross. But to settle on land that you dont dont legally own should require permission of the owner and or compensation in the form of rent.

Who ultimately owns government property, if not the citizens who fund it? Well the government are the ones that administer these lands on behalf of the people. voted in by the people. Yes tax dollars are used to buy/maintain government lands but that doesnt give anybody the right without permission to use it as they see fit and certainly not for free.

Kuroda has used up all of Japan's fiscal gunpowder and everything from now is just talk. You wait till after the BOJ meeting in September, the Yen will hit the mid-90s to the dollar, if not the 90 to 93 range.
you willing to bet your money on the FOREX for that prediction, while its certainly a possibility itll be a brave trader to take that gamble. Personally Ill stick with what I know will produce a steady income for my business and let the speculators stress whether they'll be richer or poorer in the coming months.
