To compete with Russians? ...are you kidding me?! Russians have developed rockets and missiles for over 60+ years and have thousands of them. Theyve spent billions on R&D and certainly know how they work better than Japan does. And they can develop them relatively cheaply. Now compare that to Japans high cost H-IIA rocket, Yes Japan will need to compete with Russia, since they already have plenty of the world market for rocket launches

in low taxed countris probably yes in high tax countries and countries with lots of corruption probably not. cards can be tracked by governments, they can tell what you buy, eat, when and where you are almost all the time. cash is the best way to keep your spending habits private

Crashed well inside Syrian Airspace Yaylidag is less than 2km inside the Turkish border, Russian plane could have easily glided its damaged plane across the border to make it look like he wasnt in Turkish airspace.

Way to go turkey. Shoot down the planes that are attacking ISIS. actually Russia is playing both sides of the fence, they are attacking ISIS but theyre also attacking forces against Asad, which means Nato and those supplying the rebels. As good as it is to have Russia blasting those ISIS scum theyve also got to realise theyll get burnt if they cross the line

each launch to make its program competitive. going to find it tough to compete against the Russians, they make a good cheap rocket with 60+ years of experience

Some Japanese choose death than to live on welfare.
So its better to die than hurt your pride. If youve worked all your life paying your taxes then fall into tough times why wouldnt you claim welfare. Thats whats its there for. Yes some people abuse it but its better than living on the street. I was on welfare during my younger years as there was just not enough jobs during those economic tough times. But ive now got my own business and have been paying considerably more taxes than you average citizen fir many years. Dont worry the government has got back its welfare money i used to survive and then some many times over. If your going to sit on welfare and do nothing then you shoukd feel shamed. But to refuse it because it hurts your pride is just stuidity

Dogs are supposed to be kept in the house actually large dogs are best kept outside. Its important that you have enough space in your yard to keep the size of the dog you have. my friend has a larger dog and a large enclosure at the back of the house that was warm/cool dry for it to sleep during cold nights, hot days. Chaining you dog up all day is a type or torture. Yard should have a high enough fence so it cant jump outside of the property. Having a large dog walking around your property is more than enough to keep thieves at bay. My friends property is in a higher crime area, he had a two house breakins over the years, every since getting his Rottweiler named "Helmet" heads looks like one, and its the size of a small horse. hasnt had any problems with thieves since. Make sure you have plenty of warning signs about large dogs on your property. Keeping a dog entertained with plenty of chew toys etc during the day is good to keep them from destroying your garden in boredom. keeping large dogs inside just make your house smell like a kennel, owners cant smell it because there use to it. Visitors can and its not a good smell.

Better than enforcing the law? Would you prefer they played golf instead? weel since checking copywrite is to prop up private enterprise at the taxpayers expense, Id much prefer they actually do real policing like, catching speeding drivers, redlight bandits, making sure people are wearing seatbelts and there children arnt standing in thee seats, you know actually policing that saves lives!

that chaos does not solve anything. Being orderly is the best policy. when the tsunami waves come ashore there was nothing orderly about it, its was run for your life , sadly many didnt make it, being orderly meant you drowned.

if there going to enforce laws about using two hands while riding a bike, etc unbrella of holding a phone. This is no different, really he should be using a carrier on the back. But hey double standards abound in Japan so all is fine.

What you guys want to watch is when the 2% inflation target is met and BOJ stops the bond buying. thatll be a while off yet, by that time interest rates would have risen in the US and the money will be flowing into the US, taking pressure off the safe haven currency which people seem to think Japan is and keeping the yen weak over the long term

@globalwatcher totally agree while the yen @ 120 would be considered normal 150~160 is a much better target if they really want some inflation, those Chinese tourist will be coming in waves. Itll force those imported goods lovers to look at a Japanese made product instead. US feds should be raising rates soon so 130+ is just around the corner

Seize the boats, and impound them and how they going to do that when there parked in Australia, Japanese Navy will have to be called in, I doubt Japan has the nads to make a diplomatic incident out of whaling. Theyve already got a bad image on the world stage, using excessive force to stop SS, whose tactics are far from life threatening (except there own), will just make it worse and give SS more publicity. If you think 4-5 SS boats are a problem now imagine that number becoming 10~15. The J gov and whalers know this which is why they havent used excessive force to stop them. Your move whalers. LOL

Their latest tax filing show they lost millions of dollars in legal fees. In fact they are taking in less money than is going out. On the road to bankruptcy. which is why theyre now based in Australia, to a country that isnt hostile to there cause. No SS will be around for a long while yet, there are plenty of wealthy individuals that have and will continue to donate to there cause. Certainly will be no clear seas for the whalers on the horizon anytime soon. You have no idea how good that feels. LOL

** Violence hasn't worked.** and how do your propose to deal with ISIS, give in to the demands and let them have there Islamic state, be nice to them. these scum thrive on violence and killing its part of who they are, they prefer to die killing outsiders than negotiate. No the only way is to exterminate these roaches, itll take time but the world will be better off without these vermin

Abe should get some new advisers to review the results of his "crash the yen" policy prescription. nothing crash about it , its at about the same level that it was before the US QE and GFC. having a strong yen certainly aint going to make things better, exports will dry up and all those chinese tourist buying up all those Japanese products wont come to Japan in the first place. No I think the Yen value is were it should be and will be for a long while yet. If your an importer of foreign goods or sending those wages back home to your country then your not really helping the J economy anyways

**The issue of their ownership goes to the basis of Japan's lawsuit against the SSCS which has nothing to do with confiscating anything. ** actually if Japan/ US have any chance to stop SS or any other organsiation from harassing the whalers then theyll have to do exactly that confiscate there assets, which means also there boats. Even if by some small chance Japan has this happen, another organisation will just pop up in its place outside there jurisdiction. The only way Japan will stop them is by using deadly force, since SS tactics hardly deadly that option would be overkill and cause more harm to Japans image than has already be done, very much doubt they have the nads for that. So the battle will continue Japan will continue to waste huge amounts of taxpayers money all the while making its image look worse as the years go by. But hey as long as they keep a dying industry alive and the pride intact then all is fine. reminds me have to make another donation to SS. I await you glorious thumbs down LOL
wtfjapanNov. 18, 2015 - 11:09PM JST
** Oh and it seems the US courts still consider the vessels in question as property of the US based Sea Shepherds.** if that were the case they would have confiscated them years ago, but just like Australia may have no legal jurisdiction in the Antartica, the US/Japan has no jurisdiction in Australia/Antartica also. Heard SS got a new boat recently, parked in Australia. LOL
