I always am amused to hear a Brit, Aussie or Yank with a strong native accent speaking Japanese and not making any effort to sound like a native Japanese speaker.** same could be said for Japanese speaking English like there reading katakana. native english speakers listen for the first time thing there speaking another lanuage

At least Halloween symbolizes non-Christian beliefs which are hard to come by these days. maybe Japan can make a holiday based on the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. then everbody can fast for a month. hold on that may not generate much profit.

Posted in: Halloween is now the second most popular “imported” festive season in Japan after Christmas. Why do you think it has exploded in popularity in recent years?

I hope they don't stop making TVs with Blu-ray discs in them, since they are the best on the market. yep and many of Sony TVs actually use Sharp screens.

Mothers in U.S. work because they need the money. That is not the case in Japan. LOL what a load of BS. Japanese women are going back to work because there husbands/ partners dont make anywhere near what they made 20-25years ago. the average salaryman wage is nowhere near enough to pay the mortgage, bring up the kid(s) put them through college and save for retirement. dont think the J pension will be enough to live on in the future. I told my J wife that being married to me means you have to work also and help pay the bills and save for retirement. she wasnt too thrilled about it at first but 10yrs later she now understands it was a wise thing to do. we now can pay all our bills easily and have enough exposable income to travel/eatbring up the kids comfortably. or you can be some lucky people and inherit mum and dads money

@GW totally agree with you, its time for Japan to show its card or fold and leave the TPP, Japan cant really afford to not have a TPP with the US as Korea does and that just make all it good that much more cheaper than Japanese. well see if Abe is prepared to sacrifice $billions in lost trade to the US or tell the J farmers its time to get competetive or retire. you can see the changes already with the cutting of subsides with the next 5 years, Japan is a democracy, making the 97% of the population 99% of the economy to keep supporting 1% of the economy 3% of the population is just plain stupidity

my wife and i where in a car accident about 10yrs ago, she had suspected broken ribs. (I had a cracked knee cap) during the Ambulance ride to the hospital the medic had to cut my wifes bra/shirt off so as to not move her. I didnt for one minute mind them seeing her breasts and any moron who would think that in an emergency is just that a MORON

Wow, 2.5%. IIRC, not too long ago an article said that Japan was willing to cut the tariffs on agricultural products by 20%, and the US wasn't happy. 20% on what!? 800% tarriff on rice! Japanese agriculture tariffs are so high theyre an insult to other countries. lets drop all tarifs to 0 but still let Japan have 20~800% tariffs on agriculture.. enough with the BS Japan get your tariffs at a level thats fair or GTFO of the TPP.

wait until 3D printers are availably cheaply. people will be able to print almost anything they like with blueprints availble online. criminals with the resources will easily be able to print there own weapons and there is very little the J Gov will be able to do to stop it.

as ive said before the yen should be around 110~120 level this a balance between imports cost and exports being more competetive on the world market. anything below 100 will just drive more money out of Japan through cheaper imports. Japan was built on more exports than imports. not th other way around

I have never seen a Toyota go backward after you release the brakes on an incline slope... driving school 101, when on a slope you apply load first through the accelerator before releasing the handbrake. autos its easy, manuals you need to drop the clutch slowly, when i went to school if the car rolled back at all it was points lost. if a driver cant do a hill start they shouldnt be driving
