“protect Japan’s honor” yeah they tried that during WW2. and if it wasnt for the sane decision of the emperor to surrender, Japan would probably be just a nuclear wasteland today

@zootmoney the yen isnt weak, it still strong, over the last 30years the Yen has only been below the 100yen/$1 for about 5 of those years, 3-4 of those years was because the $1trillion/year US money printing caused the dollar to crash. take away all the US QE and the yen would be around 110-120 level. so on historical levels the yen is still strong!

General Motors earlier this week recalled almost 800,000 of its 2005-2007 Chevrolet Cobalt and 2007 Pontiac G5 compacts in North America because of faulty ignition switches. just goes to show its not only Toyota who has problems, just seems all the media spotlight is pointed in its direction and away from other manufacturers.

firstly Japan will always depend on other coutries for food, theyll never be able produce 100% of the food the population needs (theyre not even at 50% now) food should be affordable for all, farmers here get over 5trillion yen a year in handouts, more than 6% the annual budget for a sector that is less than 1% of the economy. just plain selfish. plenty of countries produce good safe cheap food, its the crazy high tarriffs that are there to protect these selfish farmers which is making imported foods a lot more expensive than they need to be.

lol I went to the University of Tokyo ooooo, tell you something my father never went to University but he made a hell of a lot more than the average Uni graduate. his hard work ethic and good business sense made him a millionare many times over (almost $20million) when he retired a few years ago. left high school at 16 and never looked back. oh and he didnt need a attend a certain college to make him feel good about himself. he does that just fine sitting beside the pool of one of the 4 homes he owns. LOL

Japan needs a comprehensive plan to find what sport kids are talented in, and I dont mean baseball and soccer. my son is currently taking advanced swimming classes, mostly because his coach see his potential, big hands and feet (probably size 31-33cm when his finished growing). I was a very good swimmer during my teenage years, although not Olympic material. so Id say my son will inherit my talent. most important is he enjoys doing it, when he doesnt then it pointless in continuing

seriously how is helping J corps going to help the average Taro, the Jgov would be better an handing out shopping vouchers to every family that must be spent within a year and make it illegal to swap them for cash. that would do a lot more for consumption than lining the pockets of J companies.

more than 20million a year for an entertainer that is really good at throwing a ball!!? imagine if children aspired to being scientists, doctors, humanitarians and were rewarded as well for there efforts as Pro Baseball, Football, Soccer, Basketball players. the world would be a much better place.

paperwork! just try and do anything official in Japan and youll know the real meaning of paperwork. for a country that know how to make great computers they ceratinly dont like using them. then again if everything was computerized that would mean a lot less rubber stamper jobs. anybody whos gone throught the process of shaken on a vehicle will know what i mean.

one thing that many young J athletes arnt taught is mental toughness. the mental side of competition should be just as important in training as the practical.
