Koreans are at extremes. They can be the friendliest people on earth, but if you piss them off then they can become the nastiest. Anyone else agree with this generalization?

It's part of the IOC ploy to rid Women's Hockey from the Winter Olympics. Earlier in the day Jack Rogge gave a strong hint that if Canada and the US keeps on dominating then he sees no competiveness in this sport for females.

Anyways, it's great to see the gals celebrate their victory. Next time keep the 18-year old kid away from the booze! And GM Place might have some issues with them smoking inside the facilities. But heck, they just won the gold~

Love to see Canada losing to the US in their own national sport and in Canadian soil..

    Wake up! They already did.

The men's hockey - It's like watching a NHL all star game. So boring. The only difference is the crowd

I'm assuming you're making a comparison to Canada, USA, or Russia playing against the lower seeded teams. Other than that it is a very high level of competition and very entertaining. I hope the NHLers keep playing at the Olympics. Ovechkin wants revenge!

An amazing performance by Kim Yu-na! And glad to see Joannie get on the podium - a tribute to all moms.

Bring on the Slovaks. They just upset Sweden 4-3.

Yes...the Slovaks played tough and they deserved the win. Good to see Pavel Demitra playing a great game in front of his 'hometown'. Canada needs to repeat their performance against a tough Slovak team.

Great game! Canada is all warmed up now. Bring on the Swedes. And hopefully a re-match against the Americans!

@Branded, I think there is a big difference when Luongo plays. He's got the hometown crowd behind him and calling out 'Luuuuuu' throughout the game. This not only helps him but psyches up the rest of the team. Whoever wins this game will have a legitimate shot at gold.

Has there been any published research material from Japanese whale scientists? I'm sure they are aware that their so-called research is wearing thin.

Congrats to the Americans. Come on Canada, should've played Luongo instead of Brodeur! In the preceding game, did you see that awesome hit Ovechkin gave to Jagr?!

The South Koreans skaters are agressive and borderline dirty. But hey, they're bringing home the medals in this sport.

@ HumbledCat, I totally agree with you. The snowboardcross is one of the more exciting events. Short-track speed skating is also very entertaining.

Sooooo glad Begg-Smith didn't win gold. He's such a douchebag

Agreed, and not because he defected to the Aussie side. This douchebag has profited from creating and distributing malware/spyware on our computers.

The comments from the Heritage Minister was politically motivated even though he's from the Vancouver area. He was trying to save his ass because he approved millions of dollars to be spent on making the games bilingual. If he didn't complain first then you know the opposition party will lambast him and his party. Since VANOC is not a political party he figured they could take the blame of not utilizing the millions of dollars he threw at them. But truth be told, there is bilingual Olympic signage everywhere in Vancouver and Whistler. And on another note, French-immersion schools are getting more popular here than ever before.

The luger's death was sad and a stark reminder that life is precious and winning isn't everything. Kudos to Rogge, Furlong and the rest of the organizers for taking the time to honour the fallen athlete. This was something they did not plan for in all those countless hours of rehearsals. And it was too bad that one of the cauldrons didn't go up as expected. But overall it was a pretty spectacular ceremony.

@LIBERTAS, polls smolls whatever. The majority of the people here are excited and pumped for the games. Of course there will be a vocal opposition against all the money wasted towards this 2 week event. Any taxpayer will not be happy one bit. But in terms of the spirit of the games it kinda took the city by a storm. Thousands came out for the torch relay and even more will go out to the celebrations. And a way we go!!
