The Republicans can kiss the election of 2008 good-bye and return to what they are good at: sniping from the sidelines as a minority party and trying to hold back the progress of the nation on all fronts except for making the rich even richer.

After the debate, the news came about that the McCain campaign is suspending efforts in Michigan, where the Obama-Biden team's lead has now grown into double-digits. Michigan, where I was born, raised, and still have family, is a state with a lot of hockey moms and hunters.
Polls also do not factor in all the people who say they support Obama, but when they actually step into the voting booth will vote for the old wise man.
Frankly, I don't believe Ralph Nader will draw that many votes from Obama.
Iran-Persia has been around for several thousands of years. Iraq was cobbled together by foreign powers less than a century ago, much like the former Yugoslavia. A separate homeland for the Kurds might well become a successful democracy, but it will no longer be Iraq.
