The only reason that I still like America is because there are always some kind and wise american who really care about those suffering people.

The US made a serious strategy mistake just like what it's western civilization ancestor- Roman empire did: to pour too much resource for military power to keep conquering ability and caused long term loss in other aspects. Eastern civilization tell people to only keep minimum necessary power, for it's just a "bad" killing ability, and go after other real things. (refer to " The art of war" by Sun tze). So even eastern civilization might be some 200-300 years go down at times, it will finally recover. To check human history you will know it.

" China’s state-run media have made only muted comment on Toyota’s recalls"

2 Possibilities: (1) Chinese related dept. has no knowledge in this regard; (2) China doesn't want to be involved in this boring US-JP political game and annoy anyone. I prefer to take option (2).

"We tried that already - we got burned on September 11, 2001!"

~During the time a father try to find a murder who killed his little son, he only knew the murder hides somewhere a rural village. The father go there killing and become murder of some others'sons. He sold everything in home for cost of this action but still can't terminate the murder. The father's wife and other sons is beginning to suffer poor condition... ~ So Jesus said "Hatred ties your mind and only Forgiveness releases yourselves"

    tkoinds:

My comment is that no matter how long, or how high scaled, the US stay in Afghan, the US can’t make Afghan a country what he want. It’s not merely American’s or their presidents’ problem, it’s a cultural problem. The Western culture simply too much focus on politics/ benefit but not enough considering real compromise/ righteousness, therefore caused the problem! Only if the US totally colonizes the country then they can shape the country they want and that’s western culture’s problem. I tried, but failed, to find just 1 example if any western country ever “ assist” one country successfully to be one whom self want to be, if any, only Jp is a little bit close. So do u really think Afghan or Iraq can be the first successful one?

Basic training of these soldiers was not good: Their heads should be one foot lower, their left hands should hold bottom of rifles for stabilization and their feet should be fully touch ground to hold body and to avoid of gun-shot by enemy.

Every time Chinese civil war happened, during past thousands of years, it's really huge chaos and I think not much foreigners can comprehend. We can say it's something like a world war inside China. Last China civil war: 8 million KMT soldiers and 4.5 million Communist soldiers missing or dead; Earlier one( the one Chin dynasty replace Ming): 3 million soldiers died... and every earlier dynasty changing war often caused 10%+ population passed away. FYI, during WWII (China-Japan war), there were 4 million Chinese soldiers and 1 million JP soldiers casualty in China land; The famous 3-countries war in 3rd century killed 5 million soldiers ( Chinese population < 100 million then). There were, are, will be, not any foreign countries can really influence a China civil war! they just never experienced any war of that scale in other places! China communists are idiots if they start the war because they know even they defeat Taiwan early but it doesn't mean they must be the final winner.

It's time for these big corporations to pay more tax! Without protection from the US government, many of these companies should be bankrupt long time ago. The US autos, beef... etc. are not so good but still can be sold to other countries only because the US government is too powerful!

The problem of the US politics is that businessmen actually control the country, through Senators & Congressmen, we could say all policies of the US government are first shaped in some technologies/ enterprises and later finalized in Senate/ Congress. Google is no doubt quite a boss of some US policies!

Clearly in this case proved that people pay for the mistakes he made before. Suppose JP didn’t intrude China, Chinese communist was already terminated before grew up. There would be only a democratic China, thereafter the US would not stay in JP today. Suppose the US was not misled to believe Chinese communist was “ land revolutionist” and walk away from China to let war worn-out ROC to fight communist, China and Russia, alone and finally failed, There won’t be so much troubles the US need to face today

It's approved again that human being can't control/ change their own destiny. Selfishness, greediness, desire... restrict people to move foreward. People really don't make much progress since Stone age.

5 million JP, 3 million SK, 2 million US, 2 million Rus... etc people visit China every year, then, how can you expect it to collapse? Only those countries which no people visit like former RUS/ East GER, NK seem to be easily down. Actually, Taiwanese have been waiting for CN to fall down for 60 years, but fail, so we woke up early and went there early.

Everyone believes his country, no matter it's JP; India; CN; US; NK or Iraq... ,is morally perfect when he is young or too naive. Actually, not any one country, in history/ on earth, who never did anything wrong. This is a principle before we can really discuss any issue.

Iraq might be worse with Saddam Hussein still in charge( but can't prove); Nevertheless, It's no doubt the world would be better off if Bush didn't take charge in 2000 ( proved for world economic collapse... etc.)

Actually my observation to share with you is that the US bases in JP is beneficial for China from their viewpoint of strategy. They only don't want to say it in public for their face! During these years China criticize the US for sending soldiers to Iraq, Afghan... or involved in other small conflicts but at least in this decade they never mentioned about JP bases issue! Why? - how can you complain if somebody protected the oil transportation from the Indian ocean to Asia for themselves, and at the same time also for you, and oil is actually real life line for all. Although for Taiwan issue these bases are something obstructions, but isn't it good excuse to persuade hardline generals to keep more patient? Those real wise leaders don't really need Taiwan to be part of them now because Taiwanese are pouring all resources/ money to China already. Taiwanese in fact donated more money than people of everywhere during last time China heavy earthquake! On the other hand, it's really chaos suppose the US suddenly remove their force from JP! another unstable force like Russian or even right-wing Jps might come to fill the power vacancy! and who to share the effort to ease mad NK? who can be another such a good target to blame for bullying.. Asian for some time to decrease various inside pressure... Anyway sometimes from the other side to watch something let you know the truth~

The bases in JP is very important issue for the US so top officers concerned it. These bases symbolize the US global power and protect special status of US Dollar, especially during deep recession times lately. Suppose 1. JP didn’t hold 1.5 trillion green back and US bond; 2. JP weren’t major player of world economy; 3. Some countries didn’t discuss US dollar status, the bases issue wouldn’t be so hot. Actually it’s most important today than anytime before! I bet you if JP tries to get closer with Russia or China or even Europeans, you’ll see more funny reactions from the US~
