Ah, the last train of the day from Kakizaki to Naoetsu, and the cheapest way to get from Niigata to Kyoto - I've taken this train quite a few times. Fortunately I was never assailed by a knicker nicker, though.

Northland is rather beautiful - we've made a couple of weekend trips up there. Even Auckland has its attractive parts (am particularly fond of the drive from Clevedon to Maraetai).

Anyway, good on this woman for putting both her language skills and her environmental knowledge to good use.

My parents used to give me halib orange (fish oil supplement) as a child - didn't do me any harm. Much nicer than being made to take cod liver oil, like previous generations of children....

i think the point is that most people buy/use cans of kerosene for cooking nabe at home

Gas (in cannisters) is more usual for the stoves for nabe - kerosene is the fuel used in fan heaters.
