Now who's ignorant? The kanji 酷 DOES actually mean "cool" in Chinese. Kanji does not extend only to Japanese... Hopefully next time the writers will do enough research before writing their articles.

This spells next Columbine waiting to happen. Maybe not to that extremety, but think about it, these students felt secure to make a club that takes another's life... scary! After they receive their punishments, who knows what can happen.

Women are lunier than men, statistically speaking. If you think about it, how are you going to find any place where people don't die? There has to be someone dying for others to be born, so... there you go!!! Still, I myself wouldn't live at a post-murder scene.

I found the transition to learn Japanese to be quite easy after I have mastered both Chinese and Englsih. Vice versa I guess for any of these languages, because Japanese is easier to pronounce with English, and have similar kanji to Chinese characters. Guess the next goal is Korean for me, have to check that website out, FREE service, you say?

I would argue that plastic surgery is for some people because have you seen the pervasive occurence of the Japanese people in getting moles? Especially big black hairy moles on their face, now isn't that a good thing you hide something like that from showing in the public, it sure would do me a lot of good NOT looking at it.

Meh, can't be compared to China, where the cigarettes are cheap, and every 18 year old (I'm not saying there are no younger kids) start smoking just for fun. Sadly, I grew up there, so my lung has seen it's battles starting from age 0-10 (I moved to America), so I'm not gonna be making it any worse by picking up smoking myself just because it's COOL, but that's me.

In Chinese, it is the same character, pronunciation is Yao Guai. Bet you could see the similarities on that one. Re: "'Yokai' began springing up in literature and illustrations in the 18th century" as it should have, the Japanese adopted that word, and most of its own language (at least the written kanji's) from the Chinese.
