The GOP cannot pick a candidate as it is no longer a political party, The GOP sold its tiny, tiny soul to the tea baggers to win back congress in 2010. Now it cannot function as a political force as no one person can be all things to all the party members. Romney has tried and is failing.
When Obama wins in another landslide this year, he can thank the tea party for it. Just like he should have thanked that total failure bush for getting him elected in 2008.

Anyone who smokes today or starts by definition is stupid. So the fact that smoking makes you more stupid is not a big loss to society. What is horrible is the second hand smoke damage to kids and other non-smokers that selfish addicted weak brained smokers inflict. Now there are studies as well that show that third hand smoke poisoning occurs, that is breathing in the stink of smoke from smokers around you even when they are not smoking, the stink from their clothes for example. On trains non-smokers notice this for sure and now it seems to cause harm. There should be a smokers only car on trains where the addicted losers can stink up their own air and let those of us that want to be healthy not be polluted by the harmful effects of residual toxins from addicted smokers.

So Mr. Romney’s position seems to be that we need not worry about the poor thanks to programs that he insists, falsely, don’t actually help the needy, and which he intends, in any case, to destroy. Paul Krugman today.
Romney is a liar willing to say anything at any time even if what he said five minutes before was 180 to what he says now. He is the perfect republican.

The republicans are all the same, looking out for the rich and the rich only. They use money from the rich to fool dumb voters to vote republican. The research out last week proved that indeed republican voters are pretty dumb overall, dumb enough to think a super rich guy will care about them. Wrong. Bush screwed you guys over in creating the current near depression and yet you do not learn. You vote to give your money to the rich. Why not send it all to MIttens now and just get it over with. Write a check for all your savings cause if Mitt becomes President you will lose out big time.
The democrats are the only hope that the middle class has to survive the next 25 years. Otherwise the USA goes the way of South Carolina or Mississippi or the Philippines. All the wealth in the hands of few only and the rest living in poverty.

More riches for the liberal SF area. Funny how that area is booming while the supposedly conservative but really backward red zones in the US are slipping into economic oblivion. Californians are subsidizing the tea party states, without that help they would all be homeless.
Take away, if you really want to become rich live in liberal NY or liberal SF. If you want to poor and bitter and vote against your own self-interests, move to tea party states like South Carolina or Mississippi. Without federal welfare subsidized by liberal states it would be all over for the parasite tea party conservative states.

Of course he does not care about the 40% of america that is poor. They do not contribute to his campaign. Only the rich do. That is who he really cares about as is the case with almost all republicans. 90% of their funding comes from the top 1% in wealth in the US. Just follow the money. Romney actually is a shill for the rich and of course is super rich himself from firing people in the companies he LBOed at Bain. Romney yesterday was asking for $1 million dollar donations from the rich for his campaign. Don't care about the poor but if you are rich give me $1 million and I will work for you so you pay less in taxes as a percent than the working poor.
Unless you are super rich, voting for the republicans is just plain stupid.

Once the tea baggers took over the republican party it was all over. Ron P should go third party if he really believes his libertarian spiel. The republicans do not even mention him at all, cause as at least on the US military massive over investment he is 100% correct. US spends as much as the next 13 countries combined. It is insane.

You knowledge of Japan seems to be quite limited. During the Hanshin quake the LDP took days before they did anything. The PM finally showed up in Kobe and people threw vegetables at him. It was criminal. And you focus on 40 minutes, that is nothing at all. In fact Kan did more than any PM before facing such a crisis. He blasted TEPCO for lying about the nuclear failure. Any LDP PM would have lied with TEPCO. In fact LDP lies lead to TEPCO allowing the nuclear meltdown to occur, by loosening safety rules for nuclear plants. That is the fact.

Research reported today explains the anti-immigrant republican party and its hateful candidates. And most of the posts from the normal crew on JT.
The research finds that children with low intelligence are more likely to hold prejudiced attitudes as adults. These findings point to a vicious cycle, according to lead researcher Gordon Hodson, a psychologist at Brock University in Ontario. Low-intelligence adults tend to gravitate toward socially conservative ideologies, the study found. Those ideologies, in turn, stress hierarchy and resistance to change, attitudes that can contribute to prejudice.
Pretty much describes the tea party members.

Of course they do not match the general population, that is why its a problem. The sexual assault rate in the US military has been confirmed many times at this high level, this is not new at all.
The fact is that a big chunk of US recruits have criminal histories, mostly drugs and petty crime. Again, these are pentagon numbers. So you throw those types in with women and you get this huge problem. Asians in the US military are routinely killed by fellow soldiers, this was a big story just last month. Sexism and racism often go together.
Lets face it, thanks to bush and his failed wars the US military is now a cesspool and it needs to be drained.

Mittens made nothing while amassing a huge fortune. He produced nothing. He made money by moving money around. Of course he loves capitalism because he is a parasite on it. Venture capital is one thing but LBOs, where Bain made its big money, is quite another.
Regardless, Mittens and the other less than one percenters that produce nothing and make millions should pay a minimum tax as Obama pointed out tonight. Instead of screwing the middle class as the republicans have done starting with Reagan, the super rich can pay at least the same rate as the rest of working Americans. In the long run all will benefit from this approach. Now only the one percent types are doing well. Buffet of course is right about this. Other LBO types are selfish unpatriotic parasites attempting to destroy the USA.

Best news the demos could possibly get, Newt wins in SC. Even his own republicans tossed Newt out back in the day. He is unelectable other than to other racists, like the republicans in SC.
But you gotta love seeing Mittens twist in the wind. Fundies who make up the bulk of the republicans in the south will not vote for a Mormon cult member. Period. Mittens aligns with the republican crony capitalists who caused the great recession we are in now, but he is out of alignment with the holy roller types who think the dinosaurs were alive a few thousand years ago. Mittens should just resign now. Then of course he can makes his taxes public as no one will care.
