Reagan lied about Iran-Contra and then claimed later he did not remember what he said. By then he was senile as his son has pointed out recently so yes he probably did not remember lying. He lied all the time however.
The financial meltdown and collapse of capitalism started under Reagan. The massive transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich started under Reagan. He prolonged the Cold War by manipulating the CIA information about Russia and pretending Russia was a threat, so that when Russia did collapsed the USA was surprised. He let the AIDS disease spread for years without even saying a word about it to appease the far-right Christians who he pandered to for votes. Later he apologized for making such a huge mistake and costing Americans thousands of lives needlessly. He took a surplus from Carter and ran up huge budget-busting numbers with the government accounts. He raised taxes on the middle class and reduced them on the rich. The economy collapsed three times while he and his VP were President (it boomed under Clinton for 8 years straight). He created the huge savings and loan failure, a sign of what was to come with the republican sub-prime collapse. He was a failure as a President, history will record him as such. Failure, when his mind still worked.

study after study show that listening to limbaugh or lox news makes you stupid. The right can play he said, she said all you want but MSNBC does not manipulate news like Fox does resulting in their fans to be totally clueless about reality. Most of them still think there are WMDs in Iraq for example. Or that Obama is a muslim. Its crazy.
The shooter is Tucson was parroting Beck word for word, the gold standard stuff and anti-government rants. Beck often links Obama to Hitler is his crazed presentations. He is inciting loonies to terrorism, as does limbaugh and fox news indirectly. So wake up and see reality for what it is, the republicans with their gun for everyone screeds and hater mentality are debasing democracy in America, just like OBL. The real enemy of the US in within, you can see it in the posts above.

Anyone who listens to beck and limbaugh everyday is just admitting that they are not interested in reality, and therefore are highly prone to fall for political rubes like Palin. She is a reality TV starlet, that is all. Nothing she says matters in the long run, but what she does do is incite the weak among us to violence and terrorism as we have seen recently. In that sense she is very much like OBL who calls for the deluded to become terrorists as well.

Hah, thats a good one WilliB. Unfortunately the US airwaves are filled with rightist commentators every day and night who basically aid and abet terrorism like we saw in Tucson last weekend.
I am only commenting on the result of tea party politics and the NRA stranglehold on law makers in Arizona and elsewhere. 15,000 deaths a year by guns. 3000 of them kids.

Rangel is a small time operator compared to the corruption of the Tom Delays of the republican party. Corruption is a republican party function embedded deep in the DNA. Sure some demos are on the take with politics but their numbers are minimal compared to the party of the rich for the rich and by the rich. Oil companies elected bush to create wars for oil, Rangel has not caused US GIs die for nothing as the corrupt republicans have done.

she is the woman that republicans fear as she wiped them up over and over again in the last four years. She actually got things done which the republicans have no idea or will to actually do. She has more juevos than the whole republican leadership team combined and they know it.
The only woman they fear more is Hillary as she knows how to go for the regressives throats. Obama is just too nice to his enemies.
In two years the angry americans will punish the republicans for failing, as they always do. They are at heart simply no more than bush clones destined to screw up the country like bush did for eight years.

The SCOTUS cannot act illegally by definition, what it did however was make up its own laws. The neocons packed on the court by bush senior knew what they were doing was loony so they specifically stated that their decision could not be used as a precendent in future cases. It was a one-off decision with only one purpose, make bush president.
And that resulted in 9-11 happening while bush was on vacation and refused to read FBI reports of the probablity of a plane hijacking attempt by OBL. Who later bush let go free on Tora Bora. Its all so simple to see, it all goes back to oil and the bush family corruption to the core.

Bush was elected because he was the son of a President. He was totally unqualified to be President but that of course did not prevent the SCOTUS appointing him to the role when Gore won with 500k more votes.
Bush was a complete and total failure of massive proportions. There was nothing he did that will have any lasting positive value. He bankrupted the fed. budget with two failed wars and tax cuts for the rich who financed his campaigns. He corrupted the government with church involvement. He tried to gut social security but failed at that as well.
I have often challenged the knee jerk republicans who have no sense of history to name a single thing bush did that was good for the country. Never get a coherent reply on that one. He talked down the economy in 2000 as part of his campaign, he lied about McCain having a black love child in South Carolina, he lost the election but was placed in the WH anyway and it was all downhill from there. His whole life was a series of drunken screw-ups from his oil business to the rangers to the sad state of Texas to finally wrecking the whole country. It will take decades to recover from the massive mistakes of his sad, sorry eight years of failure
But still his bleeding heart followers cheer him on, the same ones who knew that WMD existed in Iraq and probably still do today.

When will smokers admit to themselves they are slaves to nicotine and cannot think properly as a result. They are only looking to the next fix. If others get sick around them, what do they care. Give me my fix.
