War crimes happened and the guilty are still free. The whole invasion was a hoax who justifications changed nearly monthly. In the end another country is destroyed and hundreds of thousands are dead. Nothing is accomplished.

honestdictator,
some corrections. Most of the 9-11 crew were trained in Germany and they were Saudi nationals. Not Iraqis or Afganis. Terror networks are by definition stateless.
Also the taliban offered to turn over OBL to the USA but the USA did not accept the offer. Remember that bush dealt with the taliban directly up until 9-11 when they became the bad guys to justify the invasion.

to be clear about this bush ran up $700 billion plus in debt to bail out AIG and Goldman Sachs. Obama is investing in main street saving constuction jobs and teacher jobs, hundreds of thousands of them.
Bush did what he did cause he was told to do so by his finance people. Bush did not understand what was going on as has been reported, he did know it violated his stupid free market fantasy. But if he had not acted the markets would have collapsed totally and the great depression would be minor by comparison.
So once again Keynesian economics saves the day and the libertarian fountain head reading loonies who think markets fix themselves are left sucking wind. Again. Just ask your hero Greenspan who apologized for screwing up so badly.

Agree, this is a big "Duh"
Karzai is an oil company puppet, of course the country is totally corrupt. Bush put him in there so he would roll over for Exxon.
This effort was lost once bush pulled troops out of the Afgan war to start a phony war in Iraq.
The only decision is make is when to leave, same as vietnam story.

seijichuudo9sha,
there were millions in the US alone. And yes millions elsewhere as well. Even here in Japan there was a large turnout. They marched right in front of our apartment.

What we are seeing here is the Obama Derangement Syndrome by the far right wingers of the republican party. Whereas liberals protested in millions in the streets when the phony iraq invasion was rigged while conservatives cheered bush on, radical rightwingers now get upset and protest when Obama wins a prize for his country. Amazing.
There are the sane 70% and then we have in the USA the rest who want their county to fail again.

Arafat is demonized the the pro-israel lobby in the USA. Of course he deserved the prize along with the others who shared it with him.
Obama is doing more good that any single voice in the world can, since he is the president. His impact has been immediate and impressive on the world stage. Israel withdrew from Gaza for example which bush approved and promoted. NK is back at the table again after being pushed to become a nuclear nation by bush. Sure there is more he can do and the peace committee knows it. But he has already done more for peace that any single person has in the last year. Period. Most of the above posts are by the birthers who cannot accept a black, intelligent, peace creating president. Its just more of the same racism and hateration.

And Price Waterhouse was one of the firms that audited AIG and Enron and said everything was just fine with them before they collapsed. These companies go to the highest bidders. Currently PWC is paying out $100 million in damages to those that bought AIG stock based on PWC clean audits.

This is rich, the industry that double the cost of healthcare in the last 10 years, invented the term pre-existing condition, has prevented 45 million Americans from being insured and if you are insured dump you once they have to pay is saying "trust me"?
Even the slowest republican knows what they are saying is simply self-serving lies.

The WSJ is the only pay site but that is loosely managed. Cost is $200 a year. So one murdoch site does have a subscription model.
But Fox news itself is worth less that zero as it is not news. Its just a PR wing of the republican party. Propaganda is always free. Bottom line, just turn off fox news.

wow, the rightwingers are lining up behind Chavez now? Palin, beck, limbaugh, wilson, chavez, who is next, Kim? The wingers line up behind only the real nutters.
Once again the nobel committee picked obama cause in their wisdom he as done more for peace that any other person in the last year. No one disputes this that is sane.

Sarge,
as per usual no reply to direct questions of fact. Easy to lob truth challenged posts randomly, harder to back them up I guess.
No worries, just stick to music where you have some idea of what you are talking about.

"The question we have to ask is who has done the most in the previous year to enhance peace in the world. And who has done more than Barack Obama?"
THORBJOERN JAGLAND, chairman of the Nobel Committee.
WillB and Sarge, care to answer that question? None of you remember the Israali invasion of Gaza ended hours before Obama became President. Bush condoned those warcrimes and the Israelis knew that Obama would not. No invasions since either. And no invasions by the USA so far as well.

Sarge, the only decent one in my lifetime was Carter. He has proven himself to be above the rest by his works after 1980 and his winning the noble prize for his work with Egypt and Israel, a peace which has lasted over 30 years now.
Kennedy, philanderer, Johnson, criminal, Nixon, criminal and a sociopath, Ford, who cares, Reagan, criminal and a fraud when he was not checked out due to Alzheimers in his second term, Bush senior, another criminal and liar, Clinton, a moral fraud, and of course your favorite bush junior who was a fraud, war criminal, liar, failure at everything he touched and a sociopath.
Care to disagree and get a facial yet again?

Obama is a change agent that comes along in US politics every generation or so. Most of the leaders in between are regressive criminals of some sort. The Nobel folks see that as we all do and is encouraging him and the rest of us in the USA to action. That is what this award is about.

Why didnt you list bush? He fits right in with those three guys?
Just like the landslide election in the USA of Obama this peace prize is a total repudiation of the failure that was the bush idiot administration. bush did more to set back the prospects of peace than any President ever in the history of the USA. Obama has done more for peace in his few months in office now by contrast than could be imagined before he was elected. And he has seven more years of office left to undo the incredible damage of the bush neocon idiots.
