Colby Lewis pitched seven shutout innings and helped his own cause with a two-run double, leading the Hiroshima Carp to a 9-3 rout of the Hanshin Tigers in the Central League on Tuesday. Lewis (5-3) allowed just three hits with no walks and seven strikeouts while giving Hiroshima a 2-0 lead in the second inning with a two-out double to right-center at Alpen Stadium—his first hit in Japan.
In other CL games, Yokohama beat Yomiuri 4-3 over 10 innings and Yakult downed Chunichi 4-1. In the Pacific League, Softbank defeated Seibu 4-2, Lotte hammered Nippon Ham 8-2 and Orix beat Rakuten 8-2.
