Police on Tuesday arrested a woman, her son and a teenager in Hyogo Prefecture for allegedly confining an 18-year-old boy for more than two weeks and fatally assaulting him, they said. Police arrested the unemployed woman, 42, her 19-year-old son, who is a pachinko parlor clerk, and an 18-year-old male company worker on suspicion of false imprisonment and inflicting bodily injury resulting in death.
The son and the company employee have admitted to the charges, but the woman has said she was solely responsible, according to police. According to the investigation, the three are suspected of confining unemployed Masachika Ikeda at the woman’s apartment from around April 27 to Monday and fatally assaulting the teenager by kicking and beating him, police said. The woman’s son and Ikeda went to a same high school and the company employee was also acquainted with the two, police said.
