Yes, glad to see the American law system picking up where the Japanese system failed. The military legal system, UCMJ, is probably more severe than the US courts of law although they are very similar.

The article says that he agreed to a plea bargain to prevent them from conducting an investigation. So, it is a negotiated settlement which does mean he is guilty, but it was administratively easier than risking losing the case when the only witness was too ashamed or scared to testify.…
