If it's so different to the Arnold movie, and closer to the original, why didn't they title it “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale" instead of "Total Recall"??

The Hollywooders seem to have big problems if they need to do a remake so soon after the original was released.
I know they can't seem to find any new real action stars, but what's with this Irish clown Farrell? And Jessica Biel? They are both known for their super performances...

If there are over 8 million books available on kindle, why are there no new ideas for movies?
1) Most books on Kindle are only ready by a hundred people or so
2) Hollywood is a business. Their first and primary goal is to make a profit. Their job is not to see how creative they can be. Making a movie about a story that few people have read is a HUGE risk. Not many people are willing to put up a couple million to make a movie that may or may not make a profit.
However, if you want to see some low budget movies that do this, check out streaming Netflix. There are plenty of movies there that never even make it to DVD, because the directors/producers try to do just what you suggested.
Making movies takes money. Paying actors and extras takes money. Hiring equipment takes money. Distribution takes money. Running theaters takes money.
When given a choice between "creativity" with unknown success, and a "formula" with a much higher chance of success, they'll take the "formula" any time.
Complaining about why Hollywood keeps making the same tired old movies time and time again is like complaining why McDonald's keeps making the same hamburgers.
