Here is Netflix's biggest innovation: it allows you to watch things on your schedule, not on fixed broadcast schedules like you get with traditional over-network or cable TV. It's small wonder why the likes of HBO and Showtime are rolling out apps for tablet computers like the iPad that allows you--after verification you're a cable subscriber--to watch HBO or Showtime shows on your own schedule (that's who many people have discovered great older HBO TV series like The Wire, Six Feet Under, The Sopranos, Deadwood and so on).
