TOKYO —

Oki Electric on Wednesday announced the establishment of representative offices in Indonesia and Germany.

Oki said it will seek to strengthen marketing activities related to its info-telecom and components businesses in Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia, regions where the company anticipates solid growth.

The Oki Group has recently sought to expand its overseas operations at a steady pace in various areas. Oki Data, the company that handles printer operations, currently operates in some 120 countries, with sales offices in 36 countries. For its ATM business, Oki currently maintains a manufacturing facility and sales offices in China.

Shinya Takahashi, General Manager, Strategic Planning – Overseas Business, said: “Oki will seek both to expand its market share of leading products like printers and ATMs and to develop new markets for various other product lines. These include mechatronics systems, such as cash handling equipment; social infrastructure systems, including ITS-related systems and disaster prevention administrative radio systems; and components, including sensor devices and keyboards.”
