Was privileged to see the 'Flick of the Switch' tour in '83. Fastway was the opener. Unforgettable experience for a 15 year old. It was their last truly heavy and innovative recording in my opinion. Their next release 'Fly on the Wall' was the beginning of the end of relevancy to me for AC/DC and the rise of speed metal and thrash in my life. That said, 40 years ago, AC/DC was state of the art for arena rock.
For those about to retire, I salute you.

The Worlds per-eminent hard rock band.

The best from down under thunder.

Saw them in 86. Good show. What's the over/under on lung cancer being the cause?

I would have described Angus Young as the 'lead' guitarist...

I second that.

Have a great memory from 79 when I saw Motörhead on the Bomber Tour at the Hammersmith Odeon. Two days later saw AC/DC. The tinnitus is a constant reminder. Best wishes Mr Young.

An amazing band, both brothers have been constantly on the ball, their uncle was a founding member of The Easybeets. Taught then about Rock. Sad situation but all things come to an end. You tube have a Paris concert they are Angus are amazing.

I'm not a great fan of their records but I saw them live with an AC/DC fanatic and they kicked arse. All the best to Malcolm.

My first time to ever hear of AC/DC was when I saw them back in the summer of '77 at Comiskey Park in Chicago with Aerosmith, Foreigner, Frank Marino & Mohogany Rush. 4 meters front and center from the stage. Those were the days! Bon was great! Needless to say, AC/DC was (in my humble opinion) the best band on the stage that day.
