Wish I could have been there to see this. Sounds amazing, and some of the tributes very powerful and moving.

As for Ringo's induction, I have friends here who are worried about McCartney's concert in Osaka on Tuesday because he is flying back and forth for this induction and he'll arrive tomorrow afternoon in Osaka, Japan time. They're worried about another cancellation. Hope it doesn't happen, for all their sakes, and I'm glad he could be there to attend and induct Ringo. Must have been quite the thing.

Sadly, Vaughan died in 1990 at the height of his blossoming career in a helicopter crash. Armed with his signature Stratocaster, the Texas bluesman was an unstoppable force on six strings.

For the 4th of July weekend in 1990, There was a free concert in the park at Liverpool, New York (a suburb of Syracuse). The featured artist was Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble. I remember it was a hot day with no clouds at all, and there were no water concessions available. With four other bands playing before Double Trouble, by the time Stevie got on stage we were mostly suffering from heat exhaustion and sunburn. He ROCKED the park, but we were too tired and hoarse from the previous acts to respond properly and you could see his obvious disappointment. A month later he was dead.
