11.6-inch 2-in-1 tablet PC

Are 2-in-1 tablet PCs in fashion for this season? NEC's new LaVie U is already the 3rd 2-in-1 product that we've reported about within a month.

NEC is going to release an 11.6-inch tablet PC - LaVie U - in mid or late November. The tablet part and keyboard part are detachable so that you can use it as either a tablet or notebook PC.

There will be 2 models available. The flagship model "LU550/TSS" will be about 159,800 yen and the "LU350/TSS" model will be about 144,800 yen. Both of them have an 11.6-inch ISP display (1920x1080).

LU550/TSS LU550/TSS features a Core M 70 CPU, 4GB LPDDR3 memory, and 128GB SSD. It supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. Windows 8.1 Update (64bit) is pre-installed.
