Richo Imaging will release its new digital camera PENTAX XG-1 with optical 52X high power zoom lens on August 8.
The optical 52X zoom covers a focal distance of 24 to 1248mm (35mm equivalent) and has the "1cm Macro" mode that allows you to approach up to 1cm away from the subject to take an impressive close-up photo. There is also a digital zoom available, which makes it possible to boost up to 208X (4992mm, 35mm equivalent)
PENTAX XG-1 has an effective 16MP 1/2.3inch CMOS image sensor, 3.0 inch LCD monitor, electrical view finder, and 15.4MB built-in memory. It supports SD/SDHC card, and Eye-Fi card.
In addition to maximum 9fps continuous shooting, PENTAX XG-1 offers 60fps ultra-fast (fixed image size: 640x480dot) and 30fps fast (fixed image size: 2304x1728dot) continuous shooting modes.

That seems like a very low price, so I'd question the clarity of the lens. Time for some test shooting!
