Rugged compact cameras support Wi-Fi

Ricoh Imaging has announced the release of 2 new rugged compact digital camera models, WG-30 and WG-30W.

Only WG-30W supports Wi-Fi functionality. Not simply forwarding images to another device, it allows you to press a shutter button remotely using a smartphone.

They are both capable of shooting a movie continuously for 2 hours at 12 meters below the surface of the sea. It's JPX8 waterproof, IP6X dustproof, 100kg shockproof and -10 degree low-temperature resistant.

They have an effective 16MP 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor, 5X ozone lens covering focal length of 28-140mm (35mm equivalent), 68MB built-in memory and 2.7-inch LCD monitor. They shoot maximum 1,920×1,080/30fps movies.
