Turn an ordinary tissue into a wet tissue

By KK Miller

Wet napkins are common in Japan, and the CCP Co Ltd (a subsidiary of the Bandai Namco Group) has made it so you may never be more than an arm’s length away from a wet tissue.

Anyone who has spent some time in Japan knows that getting wet tissues is as simple as a trip to the local convenience store. If you buy any sort of food there, you will surely be given an abundance of them. Eventually though, you run out. You could always run to the store and buy some more, but at 3 yen per wet nap, this seems like an extravagance you can do without. But what if getting a wet tissue was as convenient as using the tissues you already have on hand?

Behold! The Wizumoa ZQ-WT3 turns an ordinary tissue into a wet tissue! An internal water tank sprays a nice mist over any tissue you place over the sensor. Firing up to three sprays of mist, you can get various degrees of wetness for all your needs. Powered by battery, you can put this tissue box anywhere you like. It can go in the kitchen, living room, office; it goes wherever, because it’s a tissue box. The water reservoir holds about 60ml, which means it can be used about 500 times before you need to refill it. The battery life is expected to last up to six months as well.

From the beginning of July, you can find the Wizumoa ZQ-WT3 at daily necessity stores, home stores and baby stores, for only 4,880 yen.

With this product, you won’t have to worry about those tricky food stains, disgusting keyboards, or random stickiness ever again! Look forward to the days where you can eat your Cheetos and use a computer at the same time! The best part is, people with allergies or hay fever won’t have to deal with dry, crusted noses.

Does this work with all types of tissue? Somehow I doubt it would work well with some of the cheaper tissues here made of recycled product. Also, for almost 5000yen I think it makes more sense to just go out to Daiso and grab a 100yen spray bottle if you need moist tissues that badly.

You've completely ruined my day by inferring that there's something disgusting about my keyboard.
