Turtle-shaped optical mouse

There’s something funny about shaping a non-animate object that’s named after an animal like another animal. That’s a complicated sentence, yes, probably easier to internally understand than explain, but you probably see the point. Although, the general shape of a turtle does lend itself to the task, i.e., a kangaroo or praying mantis mouse might be a tough sell.

So, if you have either 1. children who’ll find it cute and/or are likely to be rough on electronics (it's cheap!), or 2. a sense of humor and fun, this just might be the ¥500 mouse for you - courtesy of Shanghai Donya’s unmatchable ability to source insanely cheap (yet fun!) Chinese-made gadgets.

Specs for Shanghai Donya’s Turtle-Shaped Optical Mouse Colors: Gold, Orange, Green, Red, Blue Connection: USB Cable; 108cm (~42 in.) Tracking: Optical Resolution: 1000dpi Warranty: Two Weeks (hey, it’s ¥500!)

Cut the hogwash and let's think about why this really is so "insanely cheap". First, cheap, underpaid Chinese labour is used, probably in poor and unhealthy working conditions. Second, the cost of environmental damage in the production process and after being consumed and tossed is pushed on to nature, society and future generations and not included in the price.

Then why is it still called a mouse?

Instant landfill. No neurons required.
