JVC Kenwood has released a new waterproof video camera GZ-R70 with an optical 40X zoom lens covering focal lengths from 40.5 to 1990mm (35mm equivalent), from their Everio video camera series.
The price is ¥59,400.
GZ-R70 is a rugged camera with IPX8 waterproofing, IP5X rustproofing, 1.5m shock-resistance, and -10 degrees cold resistance ability. It has a large-capacity battery built-in, which continuously runs for 4.5 hours.
GZ-R70 features 2.51MP 1/5.8 backlit CMOS sensor and 3-inch wide LCD monitor. In addition to its optical 40X zoom, it supports dynamic 60X zoom as well. For recording media, it's compatible with SD/SDHC/SDXC card in addition to its 32GB built-in memory.
