Rest in Peace, Phil. A lovely kid by all accounts - and very entertaining batsman to watch. His two innings v the scary South African pace bowlers in 2010 were amazing.
Very sad times in Australia.

So sorry to hear this. Completely freak accident. Never expected him to die, and it came so quickly. Rest in peace.

Phil's slightly unorthodox batting technique was fun to watch, and his cut on the off-side was just exquisite. This was a complete freak accident which took away a very talented player from the sport. Always 63 not out. RIP Phil Hughes.
Thoughts also go out to the bowler Sean Abbott. This was no fault of his, and it was just a regular delivery that is bowled hundreds of times per test match. Hope he recovers, but it must be really tough on him right now.

RIP Phillip Hughes. Tragic for Aussie and world cricket.
I echo all the thoughts posted here and agree that Sean Abbott did nothing wrong. Hope he gets through this okay.
The "put out your bat" tribute is very fitting. Only wish I had a bat here in Tokyo so I can join in.
