His seven year $ 155 million is not as much as Dodgers and Angels that has bunch of $ 20 million a year players and give better rehabilitation for disabled players. It is not Tanaka's money. It is Tanaka's arm, /Yankees now know it is not possible to be on AL playoff. Orioles has been top on AL East so this is a good chance to give Tanaka rehabilitated. At least Yankees is not going to rush Tanaka not like Rangers did to Darvish instead of rebuilding the team. Yankees stuffs are clever. Maybe next year for WS? Better Tanaka resting his Tanaka Pitch Arms this year,

@Toshiko I am a die hard Yankee fan and ex minor league baseball player what the Yankees are doing is trying to save face. What I am hearing from my contacts in baseball is that in the future many teams will start getting away with bidding because of the pitchers who come from Japan end up with major injuries regardless of rehabilitation they never be the same.

I agree with you that bidding competitions for pitchers will slow down after this season except money throwing west teams if Calif teams can participate in WS. Not only Dodgers and Angels, Giants and A's tend to spend too much money.
