Wanda, 47 hours too long as they gave the list of all the tourist trap to avoid. It's a ad. What do you expect ?
But you can go to the North Shore and spend a few cool days there. If weather is nice, there 4 or 6 days of nice hiking trails in the inside. One week is nice, a second week OK. Then you've seen it all.

You used to be able to do a stopover from Japan on your way to N. America for a nominal fee, but the airlines seem to have put a stop to that. Was a great way to lessen the jet lag.
