JAL adds Vienna to network through new codeshare with airberlin's NIKI

TOKYO —

Japan Airlines (JAL) has launched a new codeshare cooperation with NIKI Luftfahrt GmbH (NIKI) - a subsidiary of fellow oneworld alliance member airberlin. JAL’s flight indicator is now placed on NIKI’s six-weekly service connecting Frankfurt and Vienna International Airport.

Founded in 2003, NIKI is an airline based in Vienna - the capital of Austria, operating flights throughout Europe with a fleet of more than 20 Airbus and Embraer aircraft. The latest arrangement with NIKI further strengthens JAL’s codeshare partnership with the airberlin Group which started in February this year.

Via its daily service between Tokyo and Frankfurt, JAL is now able to offer customers even more options for their travel to Europe using codeshare flights between the German city and Vienna with NIKI, Berlin with airberlin, Helsinki with Finnair and Madrid with Iberia.
