Seoul seems to be one of the best-kept secrets in the world. I have quite a few Japanese friends and colleagues who regularly visit Seoul on shopping trips, and they can't stop raving about the place! They also bring me back some amazing souvenirs, such as excellent cosmetics, clothes and accessories.

Busan seems to get a lot of love, too.

I don't even know what purpose JT's (or pretty much anywhere) voting system serves. Those who down-voted Tessa's

have no logical explanation as to why the comment deserves negative feedback. It seems that too often readers just click up-vote to support certain individual or down-vote an opinion that they don't agree with. But there's no reasoning. What's the point. If you keep reloading a page, you would see votes go up and down and usually end up with being around -1 to +2 or so. Really, what lame voting wars we have here...

I personally have visited Seoul with my family once. My then 12-years-old sister and I got robbed on a cab. Many stores tried to rip us off. We also were chased after by a group of obnoxious people in Lotte theme park and till this day we don't know what it was all about. But it was very scary. Several times we received ethnic slurs and extremely rude comments mostly from adults. This was 12 years ago.

Still, it doesn't give me a reason to down-vote Tessa or anyone who likes the city of Seoul. Rather, I am happy that someone else are having safe and fun times there.
