Shiba Park Hotel 151 to open in Tokyo on Aug 1

Shiba Park Hotel will be opening Shiba Park Hotel 151, its new facility, currently under construction on the hotel’s original site, on Aug 1, 2016.

Shiba Park Hotel is easily accessible from Haneda and Narita airports and is located near Zojoji and Tokyo Tower, symbolic of Tokyo. The hotel consequently has a high proportion of foreign guests, with the average accommodation rate rising to 71% in 2015.

In order to create a hotel mainly targeting international tourists whose numbers are expected to increase further, the main building of the Shiba Park Hotel which had hosted many guests since 1960 is now under construction. It is due to re-open as the Shiba Park Hotel 151.

Based on the concept “Hospitality from the moment you book”, Shiba Park Hotel 151 151 offers services to provide Japanese inn-style hospitality.

The hotel is also working to incorporate the needs of foreign visitors to Japan as it prepares for the start of business. It has invited and held numerous meetings with independent, international consultants to consider issues such as the fit-out of guest rooms, website construction, and the types of events to offer.

The hotel will also open Japanese Culture Experience Salon SAKURA, a salon offering experiences of Japanese culture on site at the hotel. The salon shares the charms of Japan with international tourists visiting this country.

Japanese Culture Salon SAKURA

“SAKURA” offer guests the opportunity to experience Japanese culture, play, and a part of Japanese life during their stay in the hotel. Hotel staffs serve as instructors and will provide lectures on a variety of aspects of Japanese culture that we have been accustomed to since childhood, and are a deep-rooted part of their lives. “SAKURA” is open 365 days and a variety of programs such as origami (paper-folding) and Japanese calligraphy. In addition, on an irregular basis, events such as Japanese sake tasting and tours to experience the seasonal delights of Japan are planned to be held.

Guest Rooms

Guest rooms incorporate traditional Japanese colors, including karashi (mustard) carpets and shinshu (ochre red) chairs, while the furnishings also feature the asanoha (hemp leaf) pattern.

The Hollywood twin is the primarily offered style of beds, using hypoallergenic bedding. It also features a separate closet and bedroom area for a pleasant environment suitable for long stays. The Comfort Twin Rooms, which are the main type of guest room here, are built to offer separate bathrooms and toilets, and provide deep bathtubs, offering the opportunity to enjoy the Japanese bathing culture.

I worked in Daimon for many years and they used to serve a decent pint of draught Guinness in that hotel's bar.
