BMW recalls 110,000 cars in Japan over Takata air bags

Just had mine replaced in my Honda Stepwgn. This has to be the scandal of the century and we are only halfway through the second decade!

Do you mean the defective Takata products or the whole concept of fitting airbags in the first place? I just read that GM have recalled 3.6 million vehicles for a different airbag fault, in this case in the software. You have to wonder how many of the enforced safety enhancements in vehicles over the years are in our interests or the interests of various groups of manufacturers.
