Why do politicians constantly say they want "free trade" yet allow tariffs to exist.. If you can't compete, then don't bother calling it a free trade, and that is the reality of it. All countries are protectionists. These trade policies are tip toeing around the real issues until ultimately it ends with disputes.

Chinese steel manufacturers are selling their steel below the cost of making it. They also have stolen intellectual property and are using that stolen property to compete with companies that bear the costs of that intellectual property.

These are predatory practices, not protectionist practices. China will continue to target other country's steel industries and push them out of business. China's comments are just lip service, and they have no intention of changing the situation.

Perhaps US steel manufacturers (if there are any left) haven't learned to pay tribute to the Clinton Foundation ...

Cheap and low quality Chinese construction materials have poor safety record and they are easily inflammable and also low grade steel is compromising building strength and safety. The fire on the Building Apartment that built with Chinese construction materials went up rapidly. Japanese Government should be restriction on import of other construction materials as well.

Truth, Chinese "quality" is more like GARBAGE, the steel they steal they sell is sub quality, heck my wife keeps buying pots for plants that after 1-2 winters just fall apart like a rotting leaf

Sadly most stuff made in China cant expect to be useful more than a year, year and a half at best, but is it the fault of China or the companies that commission the making of cheap garbage!

Again, then let's all not pretend there's such a thing as free trade.

It clearly worked for both (non-Clinton) parties of the Russian uranium deal.

I guess you're right, though. No use for US steel to get into a donation war vs. the Chinese. They'd lose!
