Toshiba ex-CEOs unlikely to face charges over scandal

that's good, why waste time filing charges and wait for suspended sentence verdict :(

because the practice was not confined to Toshiba

Well, what message does that send to the cartels? If you all plan to do it together then you won't get prosecuted. The ways prosecutors can come up with not to charge for serious fraud are pretty risible. Not saying that this was unexpected. It stinks though.

Everybody's doing it so why punish those poor little Toshiba CEOs?

Shameful, disgusting and beneath contempt.

Why am I not surprised. Furthermore one stated reason ...that it's not just Toshiba.... says all you need to know about standard Japanese business ethics. (i.e. They are non-existent)

I'd be surprised if they did face charges to be honest.

I'm planning on getting absolutely sloshed before I do my tax returns next April. Sloshed to the extent that I'd be unable to remember any details if investigated.

CEOs get off with billions of yen in fraud, yet if the average Taro steals some coils from the local shrine donation box they throw the book at them. and this is one of the main reasons why Japan doenst have a hope in hell of reviving its economy or lifestyle of its citizens

An investigation last year found widespread accounting errors

Excuse me. Whoever wrote this should better try to learn how to do correct journalism. Those were not errors, it was manifest frauds as it was admitted by the people who did it under the order from the executive.

because the transactions were real and because the practice was not confined to Toshiba, the source told Reuters.

So they are basically saying that corruption and fraud is acceptable if done by many. Well those old monkeys seems to have no shame in making fun of people in regards to how they feel they are untouchable.

But really what is going on here? Justice and law seem not applicable to certain people, the same who constitute the oligarchy which control his country.

Japan is sending, one more time, the signal that Money and Ties with govt can exempt Frauds perpetrators from prosecution, with rules like those, soon or later the whole country will be running on frauds (if not already).

It was regrettable. a misunderstanding, we'll form a committee to discuss an agenda to consider measures to improve, etc..
